Take GREAT notes, and study REALLY hard and you will pass. You will write forever and if you can stand the professor you may make it through the end of the semester. 3 essay tests (which you will write every detail you know about a topic- from hair color to what they wore), 1 paper. I wrote 6 pages for 1st and 2nd test and for the final i wrote 9!

I absolutley loved Mrs. Barry!! Although it was a tough class, I did very well and I stink at history. you have 4 tests and they are Essay....and she wants you to include every detail. as long as you listen to her lecture FOREVER and take good notes and study, you will be fine! she is the sweetest lady, but some of her stories will crack you up.

Simply put Ms. Barry is AWESOME!!!! She is absolutely without a doubt the BEST instructor at WKU. She knows so much history and she lectures and tells it like a story. I could have listened to her all day. She really is an amazing lady. You don't need a book. She will tell you all you need to know. Her tests are essay, but they are easy. If you listen to her, take good notes, and halfway try you will get an A. I would HIGHLY recommend her. You won't be sorry you took her for this class.

Ms. Barry is a super nice lady and she knows her stuff. She's strictly lecture, talks fast and moves from one subject to another and she's very hard to keep up with. Each class I took about 5-6 pages of notes, with a total of around 24 for each test.

Mrs. Barry rocks. She does not require a textbook. Show up takenotes. If you do not like essay tests however select another professor. Her tests are 2 questions 50 points each. I think that is fair and the easiest way. She is a good teacher, and even throws som humor in.

Forget buying the book and just listen. Mrs. Barry offers a unique look at History through her own eyes and years of personal experience. For those who fail to come to class, the tests are challenging but still fair. This lady has a perspective of her own that is enlightening and refreshingly different. Dates are of little importance, but you will know US History, how and why after the course is done. Well done.

Ms. Barry is a humorous and quite quirky lady. Her tests are not too difficult and although sometimes boring, I'd prefer her over anyone else in the History Department.

If you are a student who likes to know what a teacher is talking about who likes to take exams in peace and who likes to know what notes to take this class is not for you. Barry is either to old to teach anymore or has just always been nuts. This woman teaches the class like she was there when it happened but on a bad acid trip. She cant even give you the correct dates but expects you to know them. You never know where she is going because she will go off on a rant for 20 minutes about god knows what before getting back to her original point by then you are lost and your hand hurts from writting about the cold she has had for a month. She will talk the entire time you are taking an exam. Take someone else

After her exams I wonder why I bother studying. She doesn't ask any of the obvious questions that one would think to be important to study. It is as if she is trying to trick you on the test and ask something no one would know. Soooo unfair. She is very scattered. She starts on one thing and in the middle she forgets what she is doing and starts on something else leaving you hanging in mid air.
