Additional Comments |
THIS IS NOT AN INTRO CLASS. This course is not an introductory level class. It is designed as an introduction to java for Advanced programmers. It is not, and should not be taken as a introduction to programming using the language java. The only "simple" assignment given in the class is a Hello World program due the first week to test your instillation of the JDK. He has complex problems with non trivial solutions. The CS department would do well to drop the "Into to" and just call the class Java. By the second biterm he will have covered multithreading, the Abstract Windowing Kit, and the lightweight java swing set components. This is by no means "into level" programming. Dr Bob is an extreamly bright person. He is a very good teacher. He is extreamly helpful. If by some remote chance he does not know the answer to one of your questions he will by god go and look it up and tell you the next day. I encourage everyone to take his classes but be wary, this man does not teach Intro level anything!
