Dr. Jackson is the kind of professor you are either going to love or hate. For me it was HATE. His lectures were long and boring and made you want to jump out the window!! I didn't learn anything from this class and the test were so long. The more you wrote the better a grade you would receive. However if you leave out one MINOR detail you end up with an 85, this class is horrible and if you have another option take it, if this is your only option put this class off until next semester!! Oh one more thing the extra credit is a two page paper and you get one point for it.

This was the most amazing class I've ever taken. I learned more under Dr. Jackson than any teacher I've had at WKU. His class is hard, nut if you do the extra credit and study for your test then you'll do great. I never made below a 87 on any test and I ended up with an A is the class. This teacher is awesome. For anyone who is going to college to truly learn and not just get the easy A then this is the class for you.

i liked dr. jackson a lot..you write a ton of notes but the exams are directly from them and he's very intelligent .if you study you'll do well and you need to go to class..if you miss one youll miss up to 2-3 pages of notes..it sounds like a lot but its all very interesting and he likes to crack a few jokes now and then

I have disliked history throughout school. However, I loved this class. Dr. Jackson made the material very interesting by not only teaching dates and events but also how the people lived during that time period. I would recomend this course to anyone as long as you are willing to study hard and earn your grade.

Mr. Jackson is a nice old man that has a great personality. He has been teaching for a longggg time. He lectures during the whole class while you write notes the whole time. He is very random. I had a hard time reading his writing when he wrote main words on the board. He also has a hard time hearing. His tests are essay. He will give you like 5 or 6 questions and you have to pick 3 to write about. It is really hard to get an A in this class because he expects you to know every detail on the tests. If you like history and have time to study, he wouldn't be bad professor to take.

Dr. Jackson is the smartest man I have ever met in my entire life! He amazes me by his intelligence. The class is hard, you only have like four tests to determine your grade and you have to go to class and take notes. But, I have learned so much from him. I would recommend this class to anyone. As long as you take classes seriously. You will be amazed by his intelligence and I'm glad to know him. You will love him too!!!

Professor Jackson is a funny old man who likes to make the class interesting by telling jokes and funny stories. He goes into great detail in his lectures, so you take a lot of notes. However, I found his tests to be pretty easy. He gives 5 or 6 essay questions and you just have to pick three to answer. The questions are usually over the topics which he spends the most time on. And, he lists key people, places, terms in the questions which give a basic outline for your answers. As long as you pay attention and write down the key points and topics, you should have no trouble in this class.

Professor Jackson is a very interesting, sweet person. I never liked history until I had this class. He gives lots of notes, and if you want to make a good grade on the tests, pair the book with his lecture notes. He loves detail in the essays so try your hardest to write down everything that you know. It is very difficult to get an A, unless you have lots of time to study. I do recommend this class.

Good class. It's interesting, discussion-based, and the readings and research paper are manageable. Plus, Dr. Jackson is the history department's most distinguished professor and is one of the smartest people I've ever met. He talks about all kinds of stuff, and just when you don't understand where he's going with it all, the point comes full circle and it all makes sense. So, while he's in optional retirement now and doesn't teach many classes, if you ever see his name on the schedule bulletin, take his class. It's worth it.

Dr. Jackson has some good and bad such as the Santa Claus crossed with Colonel Sanders statement says. There is extra credit that is not very difficult-you can do it over books in the Bible. Attandance is rarely kept. The grades are just tests. However, the tests can be hard-studying is needed. His moderate to liberal opinions are shared freely, sometimes angering me. Like other history, an hour and 15 minutes can be a bit long, but he does try to liven it up. He is fairly knowledgeable, but just be careful

This class is impossible if you do not like history. Mr. jackson is mean and he does not explain things clearly and if you do not listen you will not know nothing. There are two test and they are all essay and then he has a final exam. I would not recommend this teacher because he is difficult and not a good teacher for anyone to take so avoid him. He does not take any other grades but the two test and the final and for his extra credit you have to do an outcropping report over a book of his choice or something that someone famous wrote in History and it has to be two pages long and you can do five but one has to be turned in before the first part of the semester is over in order to do another one so if you do not do it before then you are out of luck and it is only worth one point you type two pages and only get one point. He does not round your grade up if you have like a 89.5 your grade will not go up unless you have completed an outcropping report. a horrible teacher. He lectures the entire time of class booooooooooooooring. When you take your test you hav eto choose 3 essays and write about them and if you only have a paragraph on one of those essays he does not bother to read it he will just mark through it and give you a 30 for that essay and that one gradeand essay you have failled so the essays have to be long in order to get some kind of credit half of the class failed the first test. He gives you 3 grades on the test one for each essay.I got an 80 70 30 and ended with a 60 on the test. so try to avoid him

Santa Claus meets Kernel Sanders. Professor Jackson is a very jolly individual with a dry sense of humor. I learned a lot in his class but the notes were an overkill. This is a straight lecture course and I was continuesly writing. The tests were moderate, but as long as you went over your notes you could pass easily. I would recommend him if you dont mind writing a lot.

Some people think he's too hard. But as long as you pay attention and take notes, you'll do fine. He writes key phrases on the board as he lectures and tries to keep your attention. There are about 3 exams which consist of 6or 7 questions. You pick 3 questions and write an essay on each. He also does extra credit by getting you to read books he mentions in class and doing a report on it. If you don't like showing up for class I wouldn't reccommend you take this class, because he doesn't go by the book - mainly just what he says.

Jolly old man. Tends to stray from topics, so be careful, but it's pretty interesting. Requires 3 3-page research papers. Easy to make a b in the class... you have to work hard to get an a or be comatose to get below a C on his essay tests... and he's a stickler for grammar.
