Dr. Clark has a very monotone voice. If you can get past that, it's basically a breeze. He gives tons of handouts & loves to lecture. If you stay semi-concious, you should do fine. I didn't study for any of the tests & got high Bs on all of them. He'll give you the answer to any question he's about to ask right before he asks someone. All in all, he made this class as easy as he possibly could considering the topic.

Very nice guy. His tests are easy and cover exactly what he discussed in class. He gives handouts (haven't had that happen since HS) which tell you exactly what you need to know. Reminds me of Ben Stein - very monotone, which makes his jokes twice as funny. Bad reviews are probably done by people who rarely attend class. Dude, trust me on this one... he's worth it.

This class was SO easy it wasn't funny. Basically, he covers three sections of material a day. Each day, he covers two of the areas from the day before and one new area. In theory, if you only went to class 1/3 of the time, you'll almost not miss anything.
The day before his tests, he does a review and basically gives you the answers that are going to be on the test.
The only bad thing, really, is that he's kinda boring...in fact, he's actually kinda creepy...and old.
But yeah, awesome class, and an easy A (plus 3 hours).

Avoid this professor. The course itself is based on interesting material, but fails to be interesting when select patches of abnormal psych are gone over and over and over in monotone. Class periods are spent with the monotone lectures and mind-numbingly stupid questions. Clark treats his classes as if they were slightly below trained monkeys. "What would be the diagnosis there? What type?" will plague your nightmares for semesters to come. But most of all, the tests, the only measures of grade, are completely whack. Tests are all multiple choice and about 70 questions in length. They are poorly constructed and cover hardly any of the material Clark covers. Each test usually has one topic is insists on asking questions on; sometimes as much as a third or a half of the exam. This class will bore the yeti out of you. And grades will frustrate the bejesus out of you. PS... don't buy his flippin' books. it doesn't really tie in. it's just shameless self-promotion.

This class was AWFUL!!! Dr. Clark was very monotone, and gave very poor notes. It didn't cover abnormal psychology as a whole, but basically only the specific areas that interested him... which meant that the whole semester was spent on the same things. His tests were also very confusing...

Dr. Clark is one of the most horrible teachers I've ever had. All you do in class is listen to him read over worksheets that he made in the mid 90's... and he is VERY monotonous. There are 3 tests and a final. The tests are also about 10 years old and have LOTS of info that he doesn't go over in class. And if you ask him about it he will make up some lame excuse why he is correct. He says he "grades fair", which means if you get a 60, its a C. I think that is his way of making up for the fact that he is too lazy to make new tests that have relevant questions on them. I HIGHLY reccomend that you DONT take him.

Clark is a very boring professor. He is dull and is not willing to work with you if your opinion does not match his. His tests are not that hard if you already know a little about Psych. He doesn't offer to give much details when you ask questions about things that are not on his handout. He doesn't seem to know much more than the basics. And he makes you buy the books he wrote, but you NEVER use them!

Dr. Clark is a good man but he isn't the best teacher he hands out the notes and then reads them for an hour and fifteen min. Psychology has the potential to be intersting.. not with clark. take someone else.

Dr. Clark is a really nice guy. However, the class was kinda boring, but I took it as a night class. It's a 400 level class, but there were no papers to write. There were only 3 multiple choice tests. And Lots of chances to get extra credit. This class was kinda easy.

First of all this class costs a lot of money. The textbook cost $100 and the DSM costs $60 and the two books he wrote cost about $15 each. You only need to buy the text--don't waste your money on the other 3. Dr. Clark no doubt DOES have the most monotonous voice of any professor I have ever had. He has been one of the most boring professors too! He has a weird sense of humor. There are only three tests. His grading scale is totally weird. On tests you either get a simple "A" or "B" there's no in between even if you make a 89 or 80. He gives you lots of opportunities for extra credit, but the majority of the extra credit only raises your grade 1/3 of a grade letter, so you have to do like 3 extra credit assignments to raise your test grade one letter which is a lot of work if you have a full course load. His tests are pretty much impossible unless you have a photographic memory of the book word for word. Take good notes when he gives you examples in class and study all the handouts. He brings a lot of useful information to the classroom, but I didn't feel like his exams really assess what you have learned!

Dr. Lynn Clark is an excellent professor. He combines his experiences in the mental health field with the class and makes the class both enjoyable and exciting. The books he wrote are wonderful too.

Dr. Clark has the most monotanous voice of any professor at WKU. He give way too many notes and you have to listen to his pitiful jokes. But the class is pretty easy, and really informative if you can tone him out and just keep up with the text.
