She was one of the best professors I have had at WKU! She is very willing to help her students in any way she can. If you don't understand something GO TO HER OFFICE! I cannot count on two hands how many times I went to her office confused and came out and understood everything. And if you go before the test she usually hints at what will be on it. She gives real life examples and I actually enjoyed going to her class. Loved her and would take her again!

I love Dr. Trawick. She is one of the most friendly profs I've had which makes the class good. It seemed, compared to other semesters, she was over worked and didn't put as much into teaching this semester. Most said that the material was better covered in previous semesters. You have to do four regression papers and there is a project. I failed the first two exams but worked really hard on the second half of the semester to earn a B. You have to work extremely hard to get an A or B and be very detail oriented. I think this class is great prep for your job outside of school.

I took this course online with Mrs. Trawick. Your grade is totally comprised of test grades, however; she does post an assignment and discussion board topics that correspond with each unit and if you submit those they are used to "bump" your grade in borderline cases. (If you have a 78 and have done the assignments, you have an 80). The tests are very straightforward, and right from the book. If you do the assignments you will have NO trouble at all on the tests. She is a very nice person and will work with you as best as she can in, or out of the office. I strongly recommend her.

She won't write any notes on the board, she just give it out by speaking, and what she teach doesn't follow the text book. So if you can understand what she is talking about and have a well developed skill on talking notes then she is good for you. Otherwise, don't take her class cause you won't have any idea when you want to review with the text book. For international students, I strongly recomand don't take her classes because your listening skill is not as good as the native speaker and your skill on taking notes is also not as good as American students.

She does wait for the class to understand material. Her classes were matierial overkill but she does not give handouts for the notes nor write them on the board. She just says gives her lecture which is useless when you dont understand what is going on because it is all new material. Yes, she is a really great person and tries to help you in some ways but I honestly don't understand why she has so many good reviews. I think she is not a very good teacher. Take some one else i promise you.

I took Dr. Trawick for the honors section of this class. The material covered in this class is difficult no matter who you take, but Dr. Trawick was an excellent teacher! She really cares about her students and wants them to excel. Just to warn you, though, she will call you out in class to answer questions. But she only does this to make sure everyone understands what's going on. She's very thorough in her explanations and she's always willing to help someone who doesn't understand. I definitely recommend taking Dr. Trawick if you can! You will love her!

Like other posters I'm not great at statistics, but did well in this class. Dr. Trawick doesn't talk over the students' heads and will work with you so you understand. She also makes herself available outside of class if you need help.
She posts lots of old tests and quizes on Blackboard. Work those problems as well as some of the problems in the book and you will do well. I did some of them multiple times.
I took the course during the winter term which helped. I was able to put all my energy into it and wasn't distracted by other classes. If you have problems with statistics but have to take it, I recommend you take Dr. Trawick's class during winter or May term.

Not a big fan of statistics - you either get it or you don't. Dr. Trawick is a pretty good teacher. If you don't understand something she'll try to explain it until you do. She holds review sessions outside of class before the exams & she pretty much tells you what's on the test. There aren't many chances for points in this class, just 3 exams, in-class quizzes, & clicker quizzes. The final isn't cumulative if you do well on the first two exams. She's got a dry sense of humor, so don't take her if you can't handle sarcasm.

I don't like stats. It measures what is probable and typical and I prefer to know what is. Anyway, the reason for all the "No" on tests, is in the honors section, we didn't have tests and quizzes but case studies. Those required about the same amount of work but were more fun. Trawick also talks really loud which could be because she had a huge class before ours, and ours had 10 people. Anyway, she's really personable and works really well with you.

Dr. Trawick is a great teacher and does a really good job explaining the material. She give a lot of in class assignments so you can practice working the problems. The problem solving questions on the final are just like the ones she goes over in class. The multiple choice can be a little tricky but if you are familiar with the material you can usually get through them. She drops the lowest quiz grade and if you have 89.5 or above average on the first 2 exams you dont have to take the cumulative part of the final. I highly reccomend her. She takes a while to post grades but other than that the class is very good and I thought it was pretty easy.

If you're looking for someone that will really help you in stats then take Trawick. She'll be patient as hell w/ anyone and won't quit till you understand. She didn't have mandatory attendance, but I would have probably got an F if I didn't go almost everyday. Stats sucks, but if it's required and you don't like it then take her. If you can make it to class and understand then you've got it.

She doesn't take attendance but if you dont show up for a coupld of class periods you will get lost. Although I recieved a C in this course, I "DO" recommend Mrs. Trawick. No matter what professor you take for this class, it is moderately difficult, time consuming. We used the new Clicker technology to take quizes in class, which were used only for attendance purposes. She provided the clickers, you do not have to purchase them. There is absolutely NO extra credit given out. Make sure you study extra hard for the first exam, for the tests become increasingly harder. Trawick keeps her students attention by making class applicable to life and lets class out early on nice days and when the air is out in Grise.

Dr. Trawick is perhaps one of the most helpful professors on campus. She keeps lines of communication very open with her students, goes over all the exams and quizzes you take, and she will even let you know when she is changing her office hours for the day just in case you come by for help. You must purchase the online textbook b/c you take many of your quizzes online. She does a good job of getting the material across although her exams may be a bit difficult. She offered us an extra credit opportunity to write a paper about economic concepts we have learned throughout the semester.

Ok this class is not very hard if you put some effort into it. I had 18hrs so my study time lacked a bit. Trawick comes off cocky when she is teaching, don't let this get to you just try to get what notes you can. A big problem with this class is that you don't know what to write down. If i had to take this class over again i would not take Trawick, because other professors teach this class by using microsoft excel and other programs. This class is for the next level Econ 306 and 307, which you us computer probles a lot.

This class is pretty easy because Trawick gives you a formula sheet to use on every test. Quizes are announced well in advance and she posts old tests and quizes on blackboard for you to study from. She even goes over the answers to them in class if you ask. While some Stats classes do lots of computer work, Trawick teaches old-fashioned stats, so everything is done with calculator and paper, which I think made it easier for classwork.

I love Dr. Trawick! She is so sweet! The class itself isn't hard but her tests are. She also gives you online quizzes which help out your grade a lot. I probably deserved a B in this class but she was generous with the curving and weighting the tests differently than she originally stated. She is very personable and will help you with anything. She will also notice whether or not you attend class and it may help your grade in the end if you were borderline like I was. Be aware that there are only 3 tests so there is not much room to screw up. I recommend her but I'm sure there are easier professors to take.

I definately recommend Dr. Trawick for this course. She was a really informative teacher and a very laid back person. She interacted with the students very well and there isn't a time on any quiz or exam that asks you something that you don't know or that you haven't studied before. A lot of students told me this course was hard, but this teacher wasn't. She gives you sheets to use with formulas to use on exams to keep you from memorizing formulas and there is not a whole lot of notes that you'll need to take. She gives you the very basic of notes. As long as you study the problems you do in class together and understand the formulas and what to plug in for the variables, you should be okay. Also, you only have 3 exams and that's including the final. If you make a 90% avg. on the first 2 exams, you don't have to take the cumulative portion of the final. Dr. Trawick made this course very student-friendly.

Prof Trawick presents the, sometimes difficult, class material in a reasonably effective way. This is a class in which specific concepts and formulas must be learned well, Trawick makes it clear what you need to know and how well you need to know it. There are no surprises come test day. The tests are made up mainly of 4 to 5 long problems each broken in 4 or 5 parts, all work must be shown, and no calculators capable of storing or working formulas are allowed for the test. When working out the rather long formulas you will do many, many simple addition, multiplication, and division steps on a dimestore calculator and record them in a chart while solving such things as standard deviation by hand. A single mistake in this monotonous repetative part of the problem solving will cause you to have an error which will result in missing all the points for that portion of the question. If this incorrect portion of a long problem is then used in a correct way to answer other parts of the problem than no points are taken off for that though.
The class isn't really as bad as I make it sound, but if you are clerically challanged, as myself, be prepared to be VERY careful when solving long problems by hand. Extra credit is VERY sparse for the test grades so you must be careful, but as I said preperation for the tests is quite thorough so a decent grade is achievable in Trawick's class given moderate ability and moderate to significant effort on the part of the student. Good luck :-)

Dr. Trawick is a wonderful teacher. She cares about ALL her students passing the course. She makes extra credit assignments when anyone does poorly on a quiz or exam. Some of the quizzes are in class and some are online. The online quizzes are all multiple choice and usually simple because you can use your notes. The in class quizzes weren't that bad even though they were problem solving and you couldn't use your notes/book. Also, she lets you drop the 2 lowest quiz scores. For the final, you don't have to take the comprehensive part if you have an average of an A on the other 2 tests. That helps a lot b/c you don't have as much to study when you are overwhelmed with finals week. Dr. Trawick assigns a few homework assignments as well, but they were always interesting to do because they were based on current events economic articles. I would recommend Dr. Trawick to anybody.
