Additional Comments |
Mr. Austin is really easy going. The class is meant to be boring but its not him. There's no way to dislike this guy. He only wants you to love this music as much as he does and you can't fault the guy for that. The test are all about regurgitation( I like that word) and so just read your notes and you'll be fine. He told us we really don't need a book and as of yet I haven't cracked one open yet. (Could be cuz I never bought it). I do pretty ok on the tests with just my notes and moderate studying. You can cram and pass the test and he's trying to help you, so there are no trick questions. It's straightforward, no bull. Only way you can fail his class is if you try. Also, you can have a lot of extra credit, so take advantage if you choose to not come to class or slack off. Be prepared to listen to a lot of classical music and watch operas. I actually enjoy it. He's probably one of the easiest teachers you'll have so I recommend him.
