Prof. Brantley is a good lecturer. She often caters to the most vocal (which are usually those who understand it best) in class, but that's because they're the ones who speak out. She has a passion for the class and seeing people learn. She lectures and you will take notes from beginning to end. HOWEVER, she is AWESOME outside of class, and will help you until you get it. She makes herself available all day, and will help you. There's no way you won't pass if you get her help. Each exam allows two attempts, and you have lots of chances for success. There is daily homework, and weekly quizzes, but all online, and all easy. Overall, I definitely recommend her for those who struggle with math.

Mrs. Brantley is very well-experienced instructor. She is a great teacher that wants you to succeed. Her office hours are very helpful, and she encourages you to go talk to her if you need help. She gives study guides that look outrageously hard, but if you do them and understand them, you will do well on the test. All in all, if you don't take Mrs. Brantley for Trig, you will regret it.

Trig is obviously a tough class. However, Brantley breaks everything down for you. She relates it to real life situations and helps us learn how its important. There are a few homework assignments, a few quizzes, and 4 tests plus the final. She gives you a study guide of what the test will be like so you're prepared. She is willing to help you at any time she is available. I went to her office nearly once a week and she was always very helpful. Going to class is crucial cause if you miss a day you're going to miss material. At the end of the course if youve only missed 2 classes or less, she adds 10 points to your final. She also drops 2 of your lowest quizzes and homework. Overall, because trig is a tough subject, this is a difficult. Brantley is there though to meet any need or concern you may have.

I think that in this situation it was the teacher not the class. She is horrible, period dot the end. I really believe that if I would have had a different teacher I would have passed the class. She tells you one thing one day and if you dont remember it by the next class (i.e) the 20 formulas she teaches in a day you will fail. She goes through so many formulas in one class it is unbelievable. You try to remember everything but it was so overwhelming. And when she solves problems she acts as if you already know what she is doing. WHAT IS THE reason for asking a question.

Mrs. Brantley was one of the most thorough math teachers I have ever had. She makes sure you understand concepts and will review the material until you do. Her study guides are exactly like the tests, so if you know the study guides you'll do well on the tests. She's sarcastic sometimes; I didn't always enjoy or like her humor, but she is definitely an amazing teacher. Also, if you go to her office for help with the homework she assigns, she'll explain it and make sure you have the right answer. She doesn't take up daily homework, but it's best that you do it because at the end of certain sections she assigns "turn-in homeworks" that she takes up and grades -- very specifically. I highly recommend Mrs. Brantley for any class.

Brantley said she didn't mind to help you outside of class, but always acted annoyed when I went to her with a question. She FLIES through the material - I felt like I was learning a foreign language. I'm retaking this class right now and it's amazing how much simpler trig is when Brantley isn't the one teaching it. She grades so hard - even if I would get the answer right, she would count it wrong if I didn't do it exactly how she told us to. I would not recommend her at all.

Mrs. Brantley is extremely knowledgable on the subject. However, if you do not have all that great of a background in math I would not suggest her. She moves very fast and expects you to know your stuff. She is hard to keep up with at times. Many evaluations say she is approachable but this is false. I emailed her and went to her office several times only for a rude, smart-ass response from her, which was extremely discouraging.

This was a horrible class. She is an okay teacher but she goes through material like a fly on you know what. She drops a couple of your lowest quizzes which you have EVERY week. As far as tests you will need to go to the math lab to get help before them or you will not pass. You are required to buy the book which was a waste because the class did not use it at all. and you are required to buy a program called math xl which you will have to do close to every night. i knew how to do most of the work and i think thats the only reason i passed. alot of my friends in the class were in tutoring sessions the whole semester. i would recommend taking another professor. AS far as attendance you are required to go to every class, you can only miss 5. Not only that but every 2 tardies equals one absesnce which is a crock! If you are one minute late you are tardie, so good luck if you are at the bottom of the hill! There are other professors who teach 116 who have take home tests... I reccomend them so you dont drop your GPA like i did :(

Mrs. Brantley is super awesome. She is helpful when you really don't understand the material. She is accessible before and after class but it's best to make an appointment to be sure. She stayed one late afternoon to assist me and she had a cold. That's how dedicated this lady is. She has been teaching for over 20 years and knows the material very well. You must attend class b/c she takes role. The math dep't has a rule about not missing more than 5 days. No big deal. Homework is assigned nearly every day but is rarely collected. It's for the student to learn, not for her to grade. Mrs. Brantley is a nice lady...a good ol' American college instructor. By far, of my favorite instructors here at Western. You will need a graphing calculator and she'll teach you, step - by - step, how to use it.

I didn't really like her teaching style because she's the type of prof. that goes too fast and expects you to understand it.She kinda favors some people more over others by letting them redo stuff when they shouldn't even be allowed to. She also has very sloppy hand writing which makes it hard to understand her notes. She also messes up a lot when working out problems and they're small errors but it's frustrating when you're really trying to learn. She messes up so much that it gets to be a habit for STUDENTS to correct her and the bad thing is that she doesn't catch on to the mistakes she makes rarely EVER...that could devistate your grade. She's a nice person but if you need things to be explained to you slowly, then don't take her. I suggest Pulsinelli!

If you don't have to go any further, just think of it as a BONUS. Hey we are in college now so expect to LEARN something!!!! I presently have her for 117 Trig and though I don't understand the material at times, she has taken the time to completely re-lecture an entire section to me. This is the kind of teacher that we need more of at this University.

It would be a good idea to take her for 116 and 117, that way you get used to her teaching style, plus she will DEFINATLEY get you ready for 126. There is a lot of homework in this class, but you are in college now, so suck it up and take this teacher as many times as you can. You must buy the textbook, you must come to class (don't miss). Prof. Brantley is awesome. If you try in her class she will do anything she can to help you. She gives many quizzes but that helps your grade and prepares you for her tests. She gives a review sheet before each test, but don't panic when you get it, the review sheet is a LOT longer and more detailed than the actual test. She explains things really well so you can understand them and she will not move on if anyone does not understand. She also gives plenty of opportunities to ask questions. She assigns homework nearly every night, but rarely takes the homework up and when she is going to she will tell you in advance. No surprises in this class. She gives many notes but they are simple and to the point she does not go into things that you will not need later. All in all she is the best choice for a math professor.

There's a reason why Mrs. Brantley has such high ratings on Profeval -- she's that good. She loves to teach and she does it very well. If someone challenged her to teach math to a dog, there's a good chance she could do it.
You are going to work very hard in her class. There are often lots of notes to take and you'll have homework every night. However, you will learn the material and you'll do well.
Each class starts off with questions about the previous night's homework. Then you get the new material. Then you get your homework assignment for that night, and you usually have time to do some of it in class. Mrs. B states over and over that if you are having trouble, she is there to help. In fact she'll bend over backwards to help you. Let me put it this way... if you're having trouble in the class and don't ask her for some help, it's your own fault if you bomb.
You will have a 20 point quiz every week; you'll drop the 2 lowest quiz grades. There's also a 100 point 'homework' assignmnet/take-home quiz. There are 4 tests, worth 100 points each, plus a comprehensive final. You get a GREAT review sheet prior to each test. A little about the review sheets -- they are harder than the tests. If you don't have any problems w/the review sheets, the tests will be a breeze.
I can't say enough good things about her. I never heard anyone in my class say one single thing about her that wasn't positive. If you are willing to work hard and aren't afraid to ask questions, you will do fine in her class. She doesn't give you any points or cut you any slack; what she does is give those who are going to work hard a chance to excel. One last thing: if you need any extra help, ask her. She will tell you about 342,573 times that she will do what she can to help you if you are having trouble. Other than laziness, there is no reason for anyone to get less than a C, and just about everyone could get a B.
She has definitely earned her great Profeval rating.

Ms. Brantley is an excellent teacher. She presents the info well and takes time to help individual students. You have to go to class, though, b/c if you don't, you'll get lost on the tests and have to withdraw, like me.

I didn't like her teaching style. Some people do, but she didn't help me to learn at all.

This can be a tough class, but Mrs Brantley is a good teacher and will take whatever time you need to learn the subject. Attendance IS important, not because its requires, but because new subjects are introduced every day<HR>Correction: 09/12/2000
