I had him for a 100 level writing class. The things he covered in class we not informative or in depth. Most of the class was spent with him making jokes and telling random stories. He gave us a vocabulary test with 84 multiple choice questions. On the test he changed around the definitions and took out key words that would help to identify the answer. The questions were very tricky. The highest grade on the test in my class was a 70%. He refused to grade the test on a curve or give a chance to bring up the grade. The whole concept of the test seemed like he was just being lazy and didn't want to teach so he copied the glossary from the back of a text book. He would give out writing assignments that he would barely cover if any on what he expected of you on them. If you had questions regarding the paper and sent him an email he would reply with "we will cover in next class' and then not answer the question unless you drilled him about the answer. Even though he gave little direction on the writing assignments he was very strict as far as grading went. I got the feeling he was trying to fail everyone. It seemed he got pleasure out of it. Many people had to drop his class out of fear of bring the GPA down. He does not post his office hours and said they are provided upon request but when I ask him to provide them or let me schedule an appointment to meet with him he would simply ignore my email, or when ask in person he would say that he would check and email a time and never would. I would not recommend him to anyone! In my opinion if the average grade for your entire class is a D you should consider doing something different because things are not working the way they are!

He missed alot of classes during the first of the semester and we had to play catch up from the mid-term on. His mid-term and final had nothing to do with his study guides. Three classes before the end of the semester he decided to finally give us was was later deemed manditory for all eng 100 students a 10 page research paper. He never went over the paper or how to write the paper. I would not recommend him for any class. I got a B in his class but refused to take him for ENG 200.
