PChem wouldn't be so bad if we knew what would be on the test. Not only would Dr. Buthelezi forget what she taught and add some stuff on the test that we didn't learn, but she would often forget to put information needed to solve problems in the test. However, she is a nice person and an easy grader on homework.

Dr. Buthelezi has an excellent understanding of the concepts. Her accent is not a factor in understanding her speech, so don't worry about that. She is very willing to spend time with you reviewing concepts or whatever you need. I would recommend her because she's fair--no favoritism--and the classroom atmosphere is friendly.

Dr. Buthelezi makes it very possible to get an A. You have a quiz each week (some are hard, some are easy). You get to drop 1 or 2 quizzes. You have a homework assignment each week, which you get 10/10 on if you legitimately try to do the problems. The tests consist mostly of homework problems, quizzes, and in-class exercises. She is generous with partial credit and gives a little extra credit at times. Good professor.

Buthelezi is a nice as a person but not as a teacher. Half of the time she doesn't really know what she is lecturing about because it's like she is so intelligent it's hard for her to explain the easy stuff making her class not worthwhile.

I felt as though Dr. Buthelezi did not express the text in her lectures very well. Her tests however were concise and very appropriate for the course.

Moves very fast, covers material well, and easy to understand if you read the material she recommends. If not, beware!
