This class is so hard to stay awake in. He passes around the WSJ every class, no one reads it!!! He likes pictures on his exams, so if you draw pictures, you will please him. Try to take someones else's class if you can. This was the only macro class that fit into my schedule this semester...

Davis is incredibly smart, and he doesn't have a problem proving it. BUT don't let this scare you. He's a good guy, and will help you if you need it. I was in his office a lot last semester, but it really paid off. Don't forget to do the extra credit!

I by no means have an economic brain, and somehow pulled an A in Dr. Davis' class. It took me awhile to warm up to him, he started the semester out seeming flustered, quiet and mumbly. As the weeks went by I actually ended up really liking him! You will have 5 quizzes throughout the semester over the book chapters/lectures and 2 tests not including the final. All questions are in essay format which I enjoy because you know your grade is very personal and you truly had a chance to show what you knew. Dr. Davis is sweet, informed, a little difficult to understand at times but good thing is you don't really have to listen to his lectures.

I loved Professor Davis. He may be a little dry at times, but he's awesome one on one. His class is hard. But Econ classes in general can be really hard. I enjoyed Davis' uplifting personality and random jokes. I would recommend him for sure.

This class is tough but I learned a lot! You have to study 6 books for this class. Very comprehensive view of economic development. Davis wants you to know both sides of the debate that is why we study different economists views. The exams are tough but he grades in a way to help you. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss class you are screwed because the lecture might be on the test. Davis is really cool.

Professor Davis is very nice and wants to help you. I have learned a lot in his class but I have had to work HARD to get my "A". He wants you to come to him with any questions that you may have but I have went to the grad assistants and they have helped me a great deal. You have 2 tests and a comprehensive final. On the regular tests 75 points out of 100 is essays. On the final 100 out of 150 points is essays. He has a test/quiz bank and if you print that off and study it you will do just fine. This is a 100 level class but it was difficult for me. But as long as you come to class, take good notes, and ask for help when needed you will do fine.

This guy talks like he is the most high profile, knowledge genius ever. He will constantly use unnecessarily big words and he talks in such a voice which furthers the fact that you will want to punch him in the face. However, he knows what he is talking about. He is incredibly knowledgeable about economics. However, his personality and demeanor are really annoying in class and led to many daydreams.

Dr. Davis is a nice man, but a terrible teacher. I know nothing about economics after it. I wish I hadn't taken the class. You can't read his handwriting, and his voice puts you to sleep. I had no idea what was going on most of the time, but its not terribly hard because I was able to just rely on the book enough to get an A

Bill Davis is a very cocky man with a huge ego. His class was boring with a few funny jokes. I think he is very sexist--he only calls on men to answer questions or to further the discussion. You have to really listen and be able to distinguish the important content from the random ramblings that he is doing. Once you have learned the core material that he continually tests over, you've got it; but if not...your screwed.

This was my least favorite class and possibly one of the worst professors that I have had. He gives you no idea whatsoever about what will be on his exams. He talks in a monotone voice the entire class and at times, I had no idea what he was even talking about because his classes are so unorganized and extremely difficult to follow. Try your best to avoid taking his class!

Dr. Davis' Economic Development course was great. I learned a whole lot of great information. There are three books in the course you have to read and all of them were very interesting. There were two exams, all essay. They weren't hard if you read the material and came to class. I wish there were more professors here at Western like Dr. Davis. He is definitely an asset to WKU. I would recommend this course to anyone interest in economics. If you need a course grounded in common sense and good research skip useless psychology and sociology courses and take a course by this man!

Dr Davis is an expert in econ. It is so hard for me to understand this class. He knows what he is taling about, but I did not know that econ can be such a mess. I am an international student who tries hard and hard on exams still make bad grades, I recommend Dr. Davis if you are already familier with econ.

Mr. Davis is an all around good guy, but his knowledge of Econ. is so great that he has trouble explaining it to others. I had no idea what he was talking about. I would reccomend going to his office and talking with him because he helps you a lot if you are confused. His handwriting is impossible to read so be aware. Get on his good side and you should do good in the class.

Dr. Davis does not speak loud enough for you to hear him and he does not explain things very well. He will go over everything for a couple days hoping for you to catch on but it is very hard. Attendence is posted as required but he quits taking attendence after the first few weeks, but if you want to do well in this class you are going to have to be in class everyday AND read the book ALOT. I would not reccomend Dr.Davis to anyone who has trouble keeping up with professors who cover too much material for one test.

I found Dr. Davis to be very confusing. We covered too much material, and took tests over seven chapters or more. All of his tests are essay, and difficult. There are also these reports that you have to write ten times during the semester that are only worth one point a piece. I do not recommend this professor.

Mr. Davis is a total jerk. He doesn't speak loud and it is extremely hard to hear or to understand what he is saying. Everything is a chart or a graph and his material is not found in the textbook. He is a horrible professor. So if you care about your grade you will not take his class.

He explains everything until you get the hang of it. The tests are great because you get to pick 2 out of 5 essays to write on and a few multiple choice problems. The quizzes are fairly easy essays to. If you go to class every day you won't have to study very much. I really recommend the class.
