Western Kentucky University / V / Alice Verbeck

This class was so awesome!! Ms Verbeck is very cool, laid-back and very knowledgeable about alot of things. We had to do about 6 or 7 papers, but she gives you lots of ideas on what to do them on. As long as you are a decent writer, this class should be easy. As in all Eng 300 classes, you have to write a 10-page research paper and give a presentation on it, but in our class, she let us pick either that or a satire we wrote to give the presentation on-- and by presentation i mean we all just read the paper to the class. There wasn't alot of structure to this class, so if you have trouble writing papers you might want to keep that in mind. She never keeps you the entire class period, and she cancels class ALOT! Take this class!!

Verbeck is a great teacher. She doesn't waste your time at all...as a matter of fact, she came to class less than I did. No tests or final, just some easy papers. Definately recommended for students who are not English majors and need to spend more time on other things.

Alice Verbeck was a great teacher! I recommend that any time someone can take her class either Freashman English or Junior English do so. She is soo much fun and has a lot of different thought provoking ideas! She has a cheery disposition which makes all her discussions fun. She does not stand in front of the class and lecture instead it is more of an open discussion. There are no tests and no final! Attendence is important, however if you have to miss she is understanding and will worksomething out (that is to say if you do not miss everyday of class, or even every other day) . Papers are the only required assignments for this class, and they are really fun projects. All the papers I had to compose for this class were fun to write. They were not that difficult and I got to choose my topics. This class taught me a lot about my own writing and about certain improvements that I needed to make. I highly recommend Ms. Verbeck, she is terrefic!

Alice is a wonderful teacher. She has her students best interest at hand. We usually got out of class early but her classes were always full of interesting conversation. If you have problems with the work she is very understanding. This class has little required reading compared to most English 300 class and there are no quizzes or exams, just papers. I recommend you take Alice for any English classes you can!

She is an awesome teacher. You will learn a lot in this class. She is so cool. She really treats you like you have feelings unlike some teachers. She talks with everyone which makes you want to do better in the class. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.

We love this class! This is the only class we look forward to. I plan on having this teacher again for Lit200. Strongly recommended! (This is the only teacher that passed Jessica McMurry)

This has to be the coolest English class I have ever taken. Some of the papers make you think...... really think to get them done, but she makes sure that there are no questions about what she wants on it. She treats you like a person and not just a student. Class is laid back and you can carry on a friendly dialogue like you would a long time friend.... I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!!
