Uveges is a good teacher who knows government. Supposedly he has changed his teaching style and isn't as hard as he was. Show up to class each day, learn something, and leave the class a better person.

Professor Uveges is a terrible professor, and makes his lectures and tests unreasonably hard. At the beginning of the class, he tells you that he makes the tests so that it is possible to pass, but beware, he's just trying to make you not want to study as much for his tests. I worked harder in this class than any other the entire semester for a B, and didn't recieve it. Uveges expects you to know things that were not covered in the lecture, nor the book. It is an unreasonably hard class and I would not recommed taking Uveges EVER. He makes the entire semester a living hell for his students, and at the end, there's nothing to show for it.

Dr. Uveges is very knowledgable when it comes to government, but he makes the course mroe than difficult. His multiple choice questions are unreasonably hard and he counts off points on the short answer if you don't write down every specific detail. His class lectures are boring and are hard to follow.

Uveges is very knowledgeable in Govt. He drives from Louisville to teach 2 days a week. He was very insightful when I had him in Fall 2000 because we were having a Presidential Election. Try to take him in Fall 2004, if your not graduating. His exam part of the multiple choice is extremely difficult as he asks picky questions from the book, he also asks questions over his lecture. The essay are easy, they are usually very short answer questions, and he gives you half credit even if you leave it blank. When it comes to attendance he could care less. He told our class that if we knew our stuff, just show up on the assigned test dates. He doesn't try to get to know you at all, but will answer any questions you have.

Dr. Uveges does know his material, yes, but his classes are very uninteresting. Most of the people in there, not excluding myself, would dose off or at least have a very hard time concentrating. It seemed like the class would never end, and his tests are fairly difficult in that some questions can be tricky and look just like a question you just answered. He is VERY critical of people that might show up late one day to class, sometimes even making them wait outside for a few minutes before letting them in. If you do miss a day, he is not happy with you at all. I missed one for a Doctors appt (yeah it sounds like the oldest excuse in the book I know...) and the first thing he said to me (one of the only ones all semester) was "and just why were you not here on Tuesday??" not so much the context as the tone bothered me, and I once had to interview him and he was incredibly stand-offish and did not help me whatsoever. He is cranky and boring, but can teach the stuff.

The lectures aren't too incredibly interesting but as long as you show up and take decent notes you'll do fine on the tests. There's only four tests and the only homework is crossword puzzles!

Dr. Uveges is an excellent teacher. I absolutely loved him. He is going to retire soon, so if you want to get a real grasp on Amer. Govt., take his class. His tests are difficult, but if you study, it is not. Most of the multifple choice comes from the book... so read the chapters carefully. He gives out crossword puzzles and the answers are found within the chapters. A part of each test will have a crossword section worth 16 points. Also, the final will consist of the crossword puzzle and cumulative mutiple choice. All I can say that he is an excellent professor and you will come out of there knowing more than you knew going in. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Uveges is a wonderful teacher, passionate about his subject. If you get the opportunity to take his class before he retires, do so. You'll have to think, and your view of government's role in our lives will be challenged, but/and it's fun and interesting. I think that I became a more informed citizen by taking this class, finding out how much I didn't know about the workings of our three branches of government--it was an eye-opening experience. The final is only partially comprehensive.

Old man. I got the impression he didn't really care what grade anyone made in the class he was just there for the money. I didn't like his way of teaching and his multiple choice questions were really picky.. some of the anwsers were alike.

Dr. Uveges is a very good teacher. The class was great during this past semester because of the election and its relevance to what we were studying. He is truly a dedicated teacher.
