This class was not terrible. A lot more numbers than 200, but not that tough. Aldridge is a pretty funny guy and tries to keep class pretty loose. 4 Tests and a cumulative final, some quizzes and homework. It really isn't that tough, I even got kind of bored in class. Shouldn't be too tough to get an A or B. Each test has a couple free questions you can miss with no penalty.

I have previously struggled with Accounting but Dr. Aldridge made it very practical and understandable. He explained things in a common sense way that made it easy to grasp. I now often find myself in difficult classes thinking "If Dr. Aldridge were taking this I would get it a lot quicker"

I took the course during the summer and the five weeks flew by. A lot of material is covered. You really need to attend every class and do the homework in order to do well on the quizzes and exams.
Dr. Aldridge knows the material and does a great job teaching it. It's obvious he enjoys what he does. His lectures aren't boring. He is also very approachable outside class, through email and in his office.

This class is hard but don't freak out because he curves the final grades at the end of the course. He is really easy to pay attention to and time flies by in the class. He is very nice and extremely approachable. He doesn't let you out early. Sometimes the multiple choice questions aren't covered in class so you really have to dig hard in your book and read the text. About half of the test is problems and you will pretty much know what to expect...do ALL of the homework problems even though they're not mandatory because the test problems are just like one of the homework ones. The only thing that sucked was being surprised on the multiple choice so read everything in the book whether you think it's important or not!

Best Accounting teacher out there so far. Explains the information in an easy to remember way. Although attendance isn't mandatory you should go or you'll miss a lot.

You have to study every night if you want to make an A. He has pop quizzes and I didn't do well on any of them. There is homework almost every night, and 99% of the time, it is over material we haven't covered yet.
I have friends that have taken other teachers, and they didn't cover nearly as much material as we did with Aldridge. He is the dept. head, so he covers every square inch of the text book. He really does try to be nice, but he can be short with you and kind of mean if you get the wrong answer. But I attribute a lot of my dislike to the subject, so that's why he got a yellow face and not a red sad face.
If you really want to learn this stuff thoroughly, take Aldridge. If you just need this course for a major other than Accounting...TAKE SOMEONE ELSE. Save yourself some grief!

If you have to take this class. Take it with Dr. Aldridge... He is very helpful and I will be starting my Senior year in the fall, he is the only teacher that has learned his student's name the three years I've been at Western... He really enjoys teaching and wants his students to learn... He is very helpful if you are having problems....

This is a tough course, but if you have to take it I would absolutely recommend Dr. Aldridge. He truly cares about his students and will help you and answer any questions you have. He offers a review before each exam and before the final (if he doesn't offer, ask and he will do a review). I would suggest going to these reviews. They are extremely helpful. I never missed a review. Take good notes and don't miss class and you will do fine. Good luck!

This was the worst class that I have ever taken. HE IS SOOOO BAD!! I dont know exactly what it was but he makes you do homework for a grade and then teaches over what the homework was about the day you turn it in so you have no idea how to do the homework until after he has taken it up for a grade! His quizes suck and his tests are HARD! Im retaking the class with Ross and he is GREAT! Im making a high B right now so what does that tell you about Aldridge?!?!

this is not a hard subject, but he is a hard prof to follow. The class is always large and he tends to think that students can grasp this info as easily as he does. I struggled all year long, the only reason i pulled a B was because of study sessions held by other profs before the final. He teaches in such a way that you think you understand whats giong on when youre in the classroom, BUT once you get home and try to apply it to a problem, you're lost. I reccommend Little if you have to take this course, hes a GREAT teacher.

This class is horrible alone but Aldridge makes it worse! He doesn't explain things very well and he gives you homework on material that hasn't been covered in class. I came to class everyday, turned in everything and studied hard for every test and got a D! If you take aldridge don't expect to take any other hard classes!

Prof. Aldridge is a capable teacher that breaks down difficult information so that students can better understand it. The majority of class deals with homework, since application is really the only way to understand the material. In order to be successful class attendance is a must and homework must be done. If you're a slacker like me and don't do h/w, the class becomes much more difficult. I definitely recommend Aldridge if you have to take accounting, but if it's not a required course, stay away.

Aldridge is GREAT!!!! He is probably the best professor in the Accounting Department. Accounting is hard for me, but I loved this class. Aldridge knows the material very well and is able to communicate it to the students so that they can understand it. He is always willing to help you with any questions. Recommendation: DO the homework, if you understand the homework - you will do fine on the exams.

I went into this class dreading the outcome. After listening to Dr. Aldridge I came to the conclusion that accounting is not as hard as it seems. He teaches the class well and, knowing some other teachers who teach the same class, you should take him! You have random quizes and random homework take-up's, but he drops your two lowest homework's and three lowest quizzes.

Dr. Aldridge was the best teacher I've had at WKU. His class is challenging, but if you attend class, read the assigned chapters, and do the homework, the class will be a breeze.
By the end of the semester, Dr. Aldridge will have you understanding basic accounting principles, even if you don't plan on a future in the accounting field. He is always available if you need help, and is just an all-around nice guy. I would recommend this teacher to anyone!

This is the best professor for accounting. He helps you understand things clearly and is extremely helpful. He gives 7 quizzes throughout the semester but drops your lowest two. He always curves test grades and wants his students to succeed. I wouldn't recommend anyone other than Dr. Aldridge for Accounting courses.

Unless you are an accounting major it sucks. The class doesn't just suck. Aldridge is an arogant and you never know when you'll have a pop quiz. Test are really hard, they are just hard bc of the way he lectures. Dept. head-stay away.

This is the second time that I have taken Dr. Aldridge. I think he is the best professor in the Acct department. He explains things very well and answers any questions that you have. If you throughly study for his test you will do fine. I would recommend doing the homework (it really helps) and going to his review sessions (he always goes over the type of problems he has on the test).

He is one of the best professors that I have had in college. I am a management major that almost changed to accounting so I could have more classes with him. He explains something that can be very confusing in the book and make it very easy. His door is always open to help students and offers reviews every week. So if you get lost you can find out what is going on. DO THE HOMEWORK. If you don't do your homework there is no way that you can get a good grade in this class. I would take him again any day of the week. HE IS WONDERFUL. I haven't had this class in two years and I wanted other students to know that I am a graduating senior and still remember what a great professor he was/is.

This is just not one of the easiest classes to take, but Alderidge does his best to explain the information. He may not be the easiest teacher, but he is fair and will do his best to get you to understand the material. If you have to take another accounting class then take him because he teaches you what you will need for higher courses.

Although Accounting can be very difficult, Dr. Aldridge made it very easy. He took his time when explaining things and was always available for questions. Each day you would have homework, but if you do it you will do fine. Before each test, he has review sessions and most of the time the things that he goes over is what is on the test. If you have to take this class, I would definately take Dr. Aldridge. My opinion is that he is the best professor in the accounting department.

Aldridge is a really good teacher, he really wants you to learn and understands this can be a hard course. The course wasn't extremely easy, but he really tries to help. Pop quizzes, but you kind of learn when they will come. Test are MC and some where you have to write an answer. He always keeps you til the last minute. But overall a good teacher ( a little goofy)
