I enjoyed this class, but sadly I think Mrs. Hastings is moving to Florida to take another job, so you'll never know how great of a teacher she was. Well, unless you go to Florida too.

Dr. Hastings' class is very fun because of the group activities she assigns which relate to the topics being discussed. The tests are hard, but only because she uses difficult terminology in her multiple choice questions. Most essay questions relate to group activities. There are two news analysis and one research paper (very easy) to do during the semester, and she is a fairly easy grader.

Outstanding class! Dr. Hastings is one of the finest professors at WKU. If you make effort, the class should be a breeze. Just make sure you miss as little class as possible, take good notes, and pay attention to her specific instructions. She makes her assignments VERY clear, so you can't screw them up. Her tests are on the harder side, just make sure you take good notes (write down all that she says basically except stories. she will give a theory or concept and then give a few sentences to describe it, write that stuff down). the less you miss class the better you'll do. just make an effort!

Dr. Hastings' class was difficult but certainly well worth taking. The information was very interesting and I appreciate that she expects students to make an extra effort learning. I know some of my classmates thought she was "too hard" but this is college...we should be expected to work hard. Additionally, Dr. Hastings' class it is a great prep for grad school. If you are considering going to graduate school I absolutely suggest taking her class because her high expectations will be a great stepping stone for reality.

MC is over text material which she does not go over in class, so be prepared to read BORING text on your own. T/F and Essay are over notes in class. She is a little moody, but tolerable and her class is interesting.

You have to be willing to do the work, but the class is very interesting. Dr. Hastings offers great stories of her experiences abroad. I really enjoyed this class. It was one of the best I have taken at WKU.

Dr.Hastings is wonderful. She has a lot of experience in what she teaches and translates that to the classroom. Her class is interesting and she gets the students involved. It is a great Gen Ed class or elective.

She is very nice but she is an awful teacher. I dont know how I ended up with an A. It was the hardest class of my life. She sucks at giving notes and her tests have nothing to do with the notes she gives. The tests are not hard don't get me wrong but they suck when you figure you have 20 bull crap questions that come from like 6 chapters at a time ...

I really enjoyed Dr. Hastings class. Even though she does lecture, she structures the classroom as more of a discussion which keeps the class interesting. There are a few papers to write but are usually pretty easy points if you just keep it simple and follow her directions. I highly recomend Dr. Hastings!

Mrs. Hastings is the worst teacher I've ever had. SHE'S AWFUL!!! Do NOT take her classes. She is so judgemental and she has to be right. She'll tell you one thing and do another! She makes fun of previous students and current students. She'll say she's going to help you when really she'll not help you at all! She's VERY RUDE! I hate coming to her class, it's like going to HELL! If you want to work hard at kissing her ass you'll probably make an A, but if you don't you'll fail. Her attendence policy is crappy! She's such a bitch! Don't take her class!

Dr. Hastings is a very enlightening professor. I learned a lot from her. I received an average grade, but was overall pleased with the outcome. I worked really hard in this class, and struggled with some of the ways Dr. Hastings taught the text. The book was really helpful to have for this class. Attendence is really important because a lot of times group projects, and in class workshop settings are included in some fashion on the tests. Dr. Hastings gives pop quizes so it is very important to keep up with the assigned text to be read for each class meeting. Dr. Hastings is a very straight forward and direct professor and will tell you like it is. She does not beat around the bush. Basically all her tests are over disscussed items in class so Attendence is very important. Do not take Dr. Hastings if you think it is going to be an easy class. This class is very challenging, but is very helpful. Theories are hard to grasp and learn, it is a different way of thinking all together, but is very interesting, and Dr. Hastings does a good job of helping students grasp that.

Dr. Hastings is an okay professor. She became flexible when we all failed the first 4 pop quizes and got rid of them. However you have to make a good impression to her. She grades according to how she thinks you are as a student. So if you are an A student in her eyes, she is easier. She is a firm womens rights activist, and often has stories that amplify women oppression. So men, beware. Good luck.

I really enjoyed this class. You have to go into the class with an open mind and be willing to learn. The first test threw me off a little but once you get the hang of how to study and you actually do study you will do fine. Read the chapters and notes. Coming to class is very important.

Dr. Hastings is very knowledgeable, but she is not the best teacher. It's okay that you are smart, but her lecture is so boring. I thought the class would be more group discussion about various cultures and the differences in the communication styles, but all she did was talk and we took notes. If you have no other choice but to take her, then sorry, but if you can help it, DON'T TAKE HER!!!

Hastings does not even deserve to be called a "Doctor" yet she will not even acknowledge your existence if you refer to her as "Ms", she is way too good for that. This class should be so simple but she makes it as hard as she can. She is very judgemental. She is by far the worst teacher I have taken in all my years of school. She makes fun of previous students who she did not like. She is a communication teacher, yet she will not speak to you if she sees you in the hall or outside of class. She is simply just a BITCH!!! I would not recommend her to teach me how to wipe my ass!!!
