Guy is an idiot. He must of received his PhD from a school selling diplomas.
Supporting evidence:
Tests do not represent what he teaches.
Does not help when students are in need of additional help.
Lacks professionalism when returning emails (If he returns them).
Teaching methods seem outdated and lacking.
All he seems interested is talking about beer and cursing.
Overall disappointed about what I learned from this class, Maybe with a new teacher this material would be taught correctly.

Dr. Alice is tough, but he knows what he is talking about when it comes to plants and when it comes to animals he will find the answers if he doesn't already have them.

Dr. Alice is a really great teacher. I really did not want to take botany but he made it interesting all the same. If you have to take this class I do recommend taking it in the fall. Dr. Alice teaches the lecture both in the fall and spring and he teaches the lab in the fall. Dr. Dillard teaches the lab in the spring. Dr. Dillard is a good teacher but the lab is quit boring and can be really hard if you do not keep up with up.
There is extra credit on the lecture exams. Also, do buy the book because it is the only way you can study for the lab.

Dr. Alice is a really cool teacher and creates a laid back environment. You don't have to attend class, nor do you have to buy the book. All you have is 5 exams and they are pretty much the exact exams as used in previous years...even the final. I personally have several diff copies of each exam from previous years, and am willing to sell all of them for the same price I bought them for...$20. I promise his exams are the same questions every year, just switched around...even some of the bonuses are the same! E-mail me at [email protected] if you'd want to buy these old exams!

If you are good at memorizing and you like biology, this course won't be too tough. Yes, plants can be boring but it's really not that bad. Dr. Alice is cool too. You will have to study though. But if you are a biology major like me, then you already know that

Dr.Alice is a different type of teacher. He likes to talk. He doesn't like to cancel class. His test are not just so hard that you'll be stressed, but you MUST study. He's definitely not a boring teacher.

Dr. Alice is a very good lecturer in his field. He is obviously a very learned man but does not overload you with useless information. There are a lot of notes given in this class but it narrows down what you have to study for the exams from the volumous textbook for the class. Extra credit is not offered but he will do anything in his power to help you succeed in the class without bottle-feeding you the information. Very helpful with questions you may have outside of class. If you are a biology major then you have no choice to take him as he is the only professor that teaches the course but he has a laid-back attitude and is a pretty cool guy.

He used power point for every class so there is little or no note taking. It was kinda boring but its easy if you study. You also go on two field trips.

If you are not a biology major, beware of taking this teacher because he goes into depth, especially if its an honors course. He is very knowledgeable on his subject matter and sometimes, the information can be overwhelming so keep up with the class or you will get behind. I never used the book so I wouldn't recommend buying it.

Dr. Alice is a great teacher and really knows his stuff. This is not the man to take if you are not a science major. He gives a lot of notes, but he goes out of his way to help students who are struggling outside of class. He is also very helpful when it comes to getting students interested in research.

Dr. Alice conducts a very efficient class. If you are considering a biology major or are pursuing one, he's the guy to have. If you're a non-science major, be warned that he is very into his subject, so you may not be able to follow the class as well as a science major. His notes do tend to flow fast, especially if he uses PowerPoint (BTW, if you think six pages of notes a day is overkill, you shouldn't be in college).

Real good teacher. Lots of notes. If you are a science major - take him. You'll learn a lot and will give you a good foundation for future courses. If you are not a science major this is probably not your class.
