Additional Comments |
This was an honors course, so of course it's not a piece of cake. The class is fairly fast paced and you have two textbooks you need to read, and a new chapter almost every time the class meets (mine was a MWF class, so a new chapter every 2 days). You also have research papers to do, however they are only 2-4 pages long and you can probably get them done within an hour or two. Big research paper at the end, but since its really your pick on topic so long as its relevant, I don't think it'll be too bad. Tests are, as all history department classes, all essays and IDs in a blue book. Du is a really great professor. You can tell that this is her area of expertise and she is really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the topic. She arranged (on department's budget) for the class to go out to eat at a Chinese restaurant and also a few other trips during class. It's definitely an interesting and fun class and I recommend it to everyone!
