You have 12 quizzes and one cumulative final. Quizzes are every friday and they're pretty easy and he does drop the 2 lowest grades. Be sure to read the links he gives you on Blackboard, there are always at least 2 questions about them.
If you are really studious and can read the textbook with no problems, then you don't really need to show up for class save for the quizzes, as HE is the one the wrote your textbook, so your lectures are pretty much word for word the textbook.
