Additional Comments |
Dr. Thacker is, without a doubt, the most intelligent man I have ever met. I cannot say enough good things about him. This class was a topics course over the Holocaust and was my favorite class to date. His class consists of straight lecture each and every day. You will read, in total, 6 books in the class (3 required, 3 outside of class). The grade breakdown is very simple: 40% midterm, 50% final exam, 10% subjective judgement/term paper. The exams are all essay and come straight from the information you get from his lectures. He won't take attendance but once in a blue moon but you can't do well if you don't attend class and take good notes. The term paper is 12-20 pages over any topic related to the course and you use 20 sources. He is such an amazing teacher. Anyone who is a history major should take AT LEAST one of his classes before graduation. I just can't say enough good things about my experience in this class. It was outstanding!
