Yeah. Don't take this guy. He is extremely rude when it comes to responding to your emails about questions. He doesn't help you with the excel projects, even if there is a problem with the excel program. I put in the formula for the straight line depreciation on one of them, and he said the formula was wrong, even though it gave the right answer in the formula, he refused to give the points.
Guy is a douchebag.

This was an online class. This professor does not give much effort is what I heard, but if you email him, he takes 2-3 days, not within a day. He was good. The program grading was too sensitive so he gave us $10 Amazon.com gift cards for the trouble and as long as we provided an effort, our 30-50% would become a 100% for homework. The excel documents were graded well and the exams were at home, except the final, which was at Garrett testing center.

This professor is a DOUCHE BAG!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't advise anyone to take this class online with this poor excuse of a professor. Beware of the excel and access cases. There are 10 excel and 1 access and the instructions are extremely vague. I consider myself to be pretty good at using excel and this was hard. The professor does not make it easier. There are no lectures what so ever. I found myself having to Google almost every step. RIDICULOUS!! The midterm and final exam are stupid. I remember getting an email saying "I have made available a study test to help you study for the exam." I thought to my self "Great!", then I saw it. This lazy, pathetic, douche of a teacher just made the entire question bank available to us, all 350 questions and expected us to go through the book and answer all of them as a study guide. This was the gayest class I have ever taken in my life. I love computers and learned absolutely nothing in this class!!!!!!

This should be an easy A course, but Parris obviously is not very good at teaching an online course. The only reason i made it through this semester is because he used a new program for his class and there was a malfunction. So, if you showed a little bit of work he would give you full credit on all the assignments. I doubt his next class will be this lucky so i don't recommend his course.

I had this class as an online class. It is really easy to get an A if you remember to turn in your projects on time. You have 10 excel cases, similar to SAM projects in 141. The last few get pretty tough, but you have 2 attempts on them. There are 7 quizzes worth 25 pts each. You get full credit for completing them, so don't bother watching the videos or trying very hard on them, they aren't on the final anyway. The final is at DELO and you have to do tasks from excel projects through the semester. Just remember to do your projects on time and its a breeze.

This class is for the student who does not need any help from the teacher because Steve Parris will not give you any help and is a joke when it comes to CIS. His class form does not teach you because the quizzes are not graded and he has dumb assignments like he is teaching children not college level style at all. Do not take Parris as he teaches online and is of no help. Only if you are excellant at learning on your own then take this class and expect no help from him.
