This is the most interesting class I have taken at Western! I absolutely love Mr. McMahon's class. I didn't think sociology would be so interesting. Although he does not take attendance, you will need to be present for each class to take notes. He will outline important points and all tests are open note. Pay attention and take notes and this class will be easy and fun :)

This teacher is a bit ridic. If you take offense to being gay, black, or poor. Find another teacher. His notes make no sense what so ever.. and sound nothing like he gives you on the test. He has no attendance policy cause he does not care you if dont show up your probably going to fail. Your grade is based upon four multiple choice test. His notes and movies are all from the 80s and totally wrong but watever, I passed. No book.

I took everything this wonderful person taught. I am a non-traditional student. I'm not sure they taught sociology when I was young. Mr. McMahon reallly gave me encouragement, and the desire to learn, and is witty and smart. He is the textbook. I wish I could carry him around in my book sack. Please take him and loosen up and learn. He is the BOMB!

Mr. McMahon is one of the coolest instructors I've had in my time at WKU. His lectures are informative and very entertaining. There is no text, the material comes from the lecture. There is one short assignment, but it isn't at all difficult. If your interested in sociology or need an easy gen ed, take this guy. You won't be sorry!

You do not have a book for this class. Mr. McMahon has a very dry sense of humor, so if you are "sensitive" this is not the class for you. If you have your head on straight, you will love this class! You take notes every day; that's what you have instead of a book. Mr. McMahon makes an otherwise very BORING subject interesting-you will actually learn some things that are useful!!!

Mr. Mcmahon is a hoot. I swear, that man cracks me up everytime I'm in his class. He is an AWESOME teacher, who makes sociology interesting and fun. Don't bother buying a book before the first day, because you will not need one. There is no textbook required, because as he will tell you...he is the book. I've been in school for three semesters now, and I can honestly say, that he is the best teacher I have had so far. No one in class is ever bored or watches the clock, because they are dying to get out. He is hillarious, curses like a sailor, and the man knows what he is talking about. I have NEVER seen him in a bad mood. He is always friendly and cracking jokes. I would reccommend everyone who needs sociology at the community class to sign up for his class. His tests are very easy. His reviews are great, because he tells you exactly what is going to be on the tests. He just told us yesterday, that our final was going to be an open note final. We get to use our notes to take it! Mr. Mcmahon is the best---'nough said.

Mr McMahon is a wonderful teacher. I doubt there is any better. Test are 50 questions, and he goes over each one in his review. Highly recommended.
