This class can be hard if you don't read the textbook because she quizzes you over every chapter, 26 total, before she lectures. Her exams and quizzes come straight from the text. She does drop 8 of the quizzes but the quizzes are only out of 10 so be careful and read in detail. Her quizzes are all true and false so memorize your definitions to the T. Her exams though are multiple choice. The final isn't mandatory if you like your grade but if you take the cumulative final she will drop your lowest exam grade.

Love her. She loves what she does and shows it. She really gets you engaged in the material. It's a whole lot of reading. You read the whole entire book. You have a quiz over each chapter. She drops 8 of 27 quizzes and 1 of 4 tests. There is a community service project you have to do which sucks but that is with any teacher. I HIGHLY recommend her. She is a wonderful teacher and fun.

You have 23 quizzes, 18 that count; 5 tests (4 over sections/ 1 final that is cumulative) only 4 count. OPTIONAL FINAL. You right one paper. You DO HAVE TO READ EVERY CHAPTER because you will have a chapter quiz close to every period. (10 T/F questions). You will learn loads, you have baby day and kid day with kids in the class room, she has years of experience, and is very enjoyable to listen to I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER. Great way to learn about the developmental lifespan for she is interactive and energetic.

This teacher explained everything really good and she knows what shes talking about. She handwrites her notes in class with you so that you dont have that much. She also has you read your whole textbook one chapter at a time but its not too bad. She never gives you homework either. I really loved this class.

Mrs. Pfohl is a wonderful teacher. When I tell people we read the entire textbook in the course they freak out. Yes there are quizzes everyday, but as long as you read the chapter assigned before class you will do fine. You must attend because there is a quiz everyday. She drops 8 of your lowest quiz grades which is a big plus for me. She goes over everything and explains things in the chapter very well. She is a very sweet lady, very helpful, and keeps the class interesting.

As far as colloquia courses go, this is probably one of the easiest. You write a page a week, about your stance on a controversial issue. Then you write a page in class on if your view changed, after a debate. You write a ten page paper on the issue that you discuss, and do one presentation in class. It's pretty easy. Bill is a funny guy, albeit quirky. However, he was out of class for half of the meetings during the spring. Ginny was an incredibly annoying human being, and I found myself cringing every time she made a comment in class. Sometimes the class would run over, because she was trying to stimulate discussion with her queries. I dreaded the class every week, but enjoyed reading about the topics!

Dr. Pfohl is a wonderful professor and a very sweet lady. She makes the class interesting and enjoyable and will do anything to help you out if needed. You have a quiz in pretty much every class because every class covers a different chapter. You have to read outside of class but as long as you do, you will be fine. She gives study guides before the tests that let you know exactly what she tests over. You have to do a civic engagement project which basically involves volunteering somewhere and writing a paper over it (easy). Also she gives a ton of extra credit so take advantage. I was in the hospital for two weeks mid-semester and she was very good about working with me. She really knows her stuff and is passionate about what she does.

Ms. Pfohl is an ok teacher. She moves VERY slow and has a story for everything, but she does that to help you remember the material. She gives a few extra credit opportunities during the sememester which you should take advantage of. you take 5 tests during the semester and she lets you drop one of those grades, so you don't have to take the final. Overall she's a fairly easy teacher.

There is lots of reading but the material isn't hard. The tests are 50 questions and she gives bonus questions. There are 5 tests total, including the final. If you are satisfied with your first 4 test grades, you do not have to take the final. I would recommend this class.

I loved Dr. Pfohl. She loves her job, is very knowledgeable, kind, and can teach very well. She has a very interesting life story and is very personable. She will take time to help you if you have any problems. Her tests are NOT tricky and are all multiple choice. There are always 2-3 extra questions on the test for bonus points. She even puts old tests on hold in the Tate Page library for students to copy and review. She also drops your lowest test grade and a few of your lowest quizzes. If I were to take another class she taught, I would definitely take her!

I don't care what other people say, Mrs. Pfohl is a great professor and a sweet, helpful person. She gives 26 true/false quizzes, and she only counts your highest 18. Yes, you will need to read the book (or at least the summary at the end of each chapter) in order to do well, but the questions are pretty straight forward. Honestly, the exams are even easier than the quizzes. Just read and listen to what she tells you in class. If you're happy with your grade, you don't even have to take the final.

Ms. Pfohl is not that great of a teacher. You have a ten question true/false quiz everyday over the chapeter and you do a chapter a day. They are not hard and she drops your lowest 8! The whole class time you go over the quiz you took at the beginning, thats how she teaches by going over your quiz. Its a pretty easy class and I made a B and only read the first 2 chapters.

This course was not really that hard but I thought it was completely pointless to go to class. You cover a chapter a day (more or less) for a total of 26 chapters which is the entire book. There is a quiz every day over a chapter that is 10 questions in true/false format. You get to drop your 8 lowest quizzes, so 18 of them count. You can not make up a missed quiz. There are four tests total which are over about 7 chapters per test. She gives you a study guide, and if you read the chapters and do the study guide, the tests are not very hard. The only other thing is a civic engagement project. You have to do four hours of community service and write a paper over it relating it to developmental psychology. There is a cumulative final at the end but it is optional to get your lowest test grade dropped. The worst thing about her class is the attendance policy. Once you have over four absences you are dropped an entire letter grade. Trust me, she is not at all going to let you slide on attendance. All you really do in class is take the quiz, get the answers, and kinda talk about the questions......pointless to go to class so you don't want to.....so a lot of ppl had over 4 absences. Overall, a good class with a bad attendance policy. I would have had an A in this class if I did not get dropped to a B for attendance.

Ginny Pfohl's classes are extremely easy if you read the book. Her quizzes are True False she takes straight from the book that highlights the main points of the chapter. I took very few notes in the class, and studied about an hour and made all A's on the exam. If you read you'll be fine, if not you'll be in trouble. She takes 95% of her test questions from the book. She also lets you drop a test so there's a chance you don't have to take a final. She offers more quizzes than she actually grades, so you can drop bad grades. There is some busy work, but it should take you an hour or so to do. I would recommend taking the class, it's an easy A if you read. Hell, it's an easy A if you skim over the book and sleep through class.

It feels like Kindergarten for college students. At first I thought that I was going to hate this class. But as the semester went on I realized that this was the class I enjoyed the most all semester. The tests and assignments are well constructed and relevant to our lives. This was realized after the end of the semester. Oh, the Kindergarten part? Turns out that it is just a winning personality of a truly happy person -- plus the DumDum Pops she passes out to eat during the tests make you feel good. Just because it is college doesn't mean that a class has to make your head hurt. I highly recommend this class.

This class has probably been my favorite so far. I found the information very useful and relevant to everyday life. Mrs. Pfohl is a wonderful professor who makes things easy to understand and uses examples that you can relate to. If you do the readings, you will do well on the exams. You will have 26 quizzes (a quiz per chapter) during the semester. This seems like a lot, but they are only ten questions a piece (all true/false), and Mrs. Pfohl drops your lowest 8 quiz grades at the end of the semester. There are also multiple opportunities to earn up to a total of 20 points of extra credit throughout the semester. I would strongly recommend taking this class, especially with Mrs. Pfohl.

I came out of it every day thinking that I had learned something new (but not in an overwhelming way...) She gives a 10 question T/F quiz about every day of class but they are not too hard--easy grade boosters. I got by reading the vocabulary in the margins rather than the chapter... Tests aren't too hard either, just take decent notes and skim over the chapters again.

What makes Ginny different from most professors is her ability to present the material through videos, real-life scenarios, interesting class discussions, etc. She talks a lot and you would need to take notes but if you make it a point to pay attention in class (no daydreaming) you won't have to take a lot of notes.
