Dr. Smith was a very good professor. He moves very quickly through notes so it can be helpful to read the notes or book before class. All tests, including the final, are online at the testing center.

Dr. Smith is very very smart- one of the best teachers I ever had. Attendance is not required, but there will be a small 5 question quiz at the beginning of each class, so if you're not there to take it, you'll get a 0 quiz grade. The material is excellent and comes with interactive online material. Warning: This is a hard class, but an A is possible! If you want to sleep of complain, I'd get someone else, but if you want an engaging teacher and to learn a lot and get a good grip on the basics (like prep for med school), he's excellent!

Dr. Smith makes this course SO much harder than it needs to be. I took this course as an AP course my senior year of high school, therefore I knew all the material and still struggled on 2 of the 4 of his tests. He makes the questions on the test very tricky to where you have to often second guess your choices. Also, the tests are in the DELO Testing Center on the computer. The final consists of 200 questions, 100 of new material and 100 of old. I would suggest taking anybody BUT Dr. Smith. I understand this was an honors class, but there is no reason that I felt so awful about taking a test in the class (when I opted not to take the AP test and didnt get credit for the class) and knew all the material before hand. There was no reason to get a b

Dr. Smith is an outstanding biology professor. He really cares about teaching and is very good about explaining things. His class can be a little fast paced, and his test can be quite difficult if you do not study. Some of the wording in his questions made them difficult to understand also. In the class you also have to do a debate and a group review project; THEY ARE NOT AS BAD AS THEY SOUND. Mastering biology is also another big factor in his class, be sure to do them and turn them in on time or you will not receive any credit. His final is cumulative and it was rather difficult, but if you do well on everything else you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Dr. Smith is very nice and very knowledgable. The tests can be challenging because of difficult wording, but if you come to class regularly and take notes, you'll do fine. There is a debate, but it is a group debate and very fun. A very good introductory course of Biology.

3 exams and a cumulative final all 100 questions. They are from a instructor's cd of test questions and its easily known. Each question is seriously a paragraph ... he should make his own questions. Come to class and just stay awake he does ALOT of random pop quizzes. You have to do a big presentation in a group which is worth a test grade. He isnt effective as a professor...slow at grading...uses ppt. and describes what your seeing is all he does. Take something else!!!

Though your attendance isnt mandatory, he gives you 4 points per day for being in class. We used to be able to take our tests 3 times, but someone got caught cheating in the DELO testing center so im not for sure if he will continue with the 3 time trial or stay on the 1 try track. You take a lot of notes and i had to take my own notes from the book to do good on the test. Other than that, he is an awesome guy but im not for sure if i would take an upper level biol class with him.

Dr. Smith loves teaching about biology, however what he is teaching is just not that exciting. Attendance is huge with him and it really helps out your grade. The exams you can take up to 3 times in the testing center which really helps. As long as you do the homework and study for the exams, you will do just fine!

He redefines easy. You can miss every single class and still get an A, like I did, because everything is on Blackboard. If you turn in your assignments online on time, you get an A for the assignment. You can take the tests up to three times, and you take them in the testing center so you can literally show up on the first day, then never be seen again and pull off an A in this class.

This course was somewhat different. Since I took the honors section, Dr. Smith decided to have each student teach a different chapter every lecture period. It wasn't too hard preparing the material for the lecture, but some students didn't do a very good job of teaching so it made the 10 point quizzes you had the next day a little more difficult. Overall, I thought this method was kind of interesting. If your up for a little change, I recommend taking this class. Dr. Smith is extremely nice and knowledgeable, and was always available to meet if I had questions after class. Plus all the exams were fairly easy, with the cumulative final being only a bit more difficult.

He is a great teacher. too easy class.
You can take exam three times and it is breeze.
You will get full credit if you do every assignment on time.
You don't need to go to class, every lecture is on blackboard.

TAKE DR. S....... he makes his classes to here you have to try to fail i got less than a 50% on all tests including the Final and i still got a B fot my final grade. Attendance is not required but he gives you 4 pionts every day you show up for class and he will just anounce in class that he is going to give points for nothing
he lets us take every test 3 times and you can print the test out so that you have the questons on the test and he does not grade the home work if you turn it in on time you get full credit on it. he also post all his notes on black board

Considering this was a 120 class, it shouldn't have been so hard. The lecture consisted of powerpoint that was copied straight from the book. It's impossible to take notes from the powerpoint in lecture. He flys through the slide.Attendance isn't required, but necessary to make at least a B. You'll never use your book, but you will need it to teach yourself. It seems like he tries to make this class easy, but overall he wasn't sucessful. I didn't miss a class, took notes, and studied. I got a C. Good Luck Kids.

Attendance is not required but encouraged if you want to recieve an A or B but all the notes are on Blackboard. The problem isn't really with the class but his attitude! don't try to conference with him or he will come off very rude. It doesn't help that when you are talking with him you can't tell if he's looking at you or not. he seemed nice in the beginning but in the end, he's quite rude.

This class was great. You never had to attend the class because everything was on blackboard. He gave lectures every class meeting that would cover the material on blackboard. The tests were fairly easy as long as you studied and did the study guides.

This class was very interesting. He lets students make up the study questions and then he takes test questions from that study guide. Neurobiology is a difficult subject so don't expect it to be so easy. Overall this class was an interesting one.

I did not like this professor because he did not teach anything about the course. All of our notes were cut and pasted onto a power point that that he basically read to us. This was the only form of notetaking, so you might as well just follow along and highlight the book. The tests would have been really easy...you are supposed to send in possible questions that he combines and emails to you. Unfortunately he emails them to you, you study, and then when he makes the test out if he doesn't like the questions you will have a totally different test. I will never take another course taught by him, but he is a fairly nice guy.

EASY!!! All notes are online, I went to class just to take the tests and made an A. Some of the tests the students in the class submitted the questions, and then he actually sent those questions for us to study! The class is a breeze, just do the online quizzes and assignments on time.
