Kershner's HIST 119 is your typical lecture class, but he's really laid back and grades really easily. His syllabus is intimidating, but don't let that get to you, he's a nice guy. As long as you can BS your way through a few essays and identifications on the tests, you'll be fine. Highly recommended if you aren't a history major and want the class credit with an A or a B.

Take Kersher! He is awesome! I was dreading Western Civ and I thought this class was going to be extremely hard because I took before 1900. It was the best decision I have ever made. The class is difficult but manageable. The main grades consist of three tests and a couple of 2 page papers. The tests are essay but he give you an essay prompt before the test and a study guide. The study guide is overwhelming but he grades fairly easy. Take him! You will be glad you did

Very entertaining professor, knows what he's talking about and makes history funny too! We had three exams overall, one at the 1/3 point, one at the 2/3 point, and then the final which are all written in a blue book with an essay he gives you before the exams and an unknown mixture of short answer questions and terms. Let's say he gives you 10 terms, you only have to do 7 or whatever so you get to choose. There were also 2 other essays we had to do outside of the exams, a 2 page and a 4 page. Overall, I definitely recommend Kershner! He's got a very specific sense of humor, but if you get it you'll love him!
