This class isn't too bad as long as you stay on top of things. Chris grades quite leniently, so your chances of doing well are very good if you keep up with the assignments. Each week has a project that involves creating or critiquing some sort of marketing item. Most of these were easily done in under 90 minutes but a few may take 2-3 hours to do a good job. You must make at least three discussion board posts each week. There are also approximately two assigned textbook chapters each week, as well as some online articles, but I never did the textbook readings.
There are four untimed open book exams (administered via Blackboard) with multiple choice and essay questions. The "final" is a campaign project that counts for a big chunk of your grade and basically involves combining a bunch of the weekly assignments and tying them all together.
Overall, this class is pretty easy and I would much rather take it online than in a classroom.

When I took this course, they had it set up where all sections met together in the auditorium for lectures and then separated into smaller sections for lab days. The course will have you create and update a blog based on a topic of your choice for the whole semester. We were required to post at least 10 times, and then complete four projects. The first is a photo slideshow. The second is an e-paper (using Adobe Indesign). The third is a podcast/audio project. And the fourth is a video project that combines aspects of the first three. The instructors are all pretty helpful, but I felt at ease asking Prof. Houchens for helps when I couldn't quite understand the programs. This class is a lot of fun.

I took this class as a night class and breezed right through it. It is a great introductory course for journalism students. We never stayed the full time. There are four tests, each of which are preceded by detailed study guides so there are no questions on the test that haven't already been answered the week prior to it. There are a few projects: photoshop and using iMovie. He grades very leniently. I highly recommend this class.
