Mr. Goff is great. Atendance wasnt mandatory and you could get an A without going to every class. You have a 20 pt. test every two weeks but its really easy and he puts his past tests online just look at those and study your notes. He drops the lowest test score and your final is just another 20 pt. test made with questions from the other tests. You have to do four reports but just FOLLOW THE FORMAT they are not graded on length at all as long as you answer the questions you'll get an A. This class may be a little boring at times but if you can deal with that it is an easy A!

There are several readings you'll do that amount to 700 pages by mid-term. I really enjoyed the lectures, and the course got me very much accustomed to economic research writing. Dr. G gives you brief reports on half the readings, quizzes on the other half. You also have empirical assignments. He doesn't give any instructions on how to do them. If you get stuck, ask him. The tests are easy to study for as he gives you a study guide. Memorize everything on that study guide and be as concise as possible. I would take the class again even though some complain of Dr. Goff's scattered notes. The study guide makes up for any sort of messed up notes.

This is literally the most boring course I have ever taken. He just lectures the entire time. Make sure you do the brief reports he assigns throughout the year. Otherwise attendence isnt really required. A lot of the test questions are taken out of the test from the semester before which he posts online.

I took this course because the evaluations on here said that it was easy, I wouldn't be in class long and Goff is a good teacher. The only thing that was true is that I wasn't in class long. I literally learned nothing the entire semester. You have bi-weekly tests that are only 20 questions but are near impossible because you haven't learned anything. The assignment are really easy but I forgot to indent a paragraph ONE time and received a 50%. Take him if you don't want to learn anything and get no higher than a C.

Prof. Goff is one of those professors you don't know whether you like or dis like. Econ will come easy to those who think like economist and not easy to those who think otherwise. His grades are based off of 6, 20 question mult. choice test, and 3 very easy brief reports, with one map assignment at the beginning of the semester. I would say always attend class and write your own notes based off of what he says, don't copy straight off the board as you will find it hard to understand when going back over them as study material. He doesn't allow cell phone usage, talking, or eating while in his class. He also let's you out of class very early every class meeting. So with his class it's a bit of give and take!

i liked this class and prof goff. you have to pay $60 for an online book so dont buy the bookstore one. if you use the online tests from last semester to study with you will do fine. i didnt know about them until the end of the semester or else i would have had a wayyy better grade. in the beginning you have online quizes and then at the end you have 3 brief reports which are all easy pts to raise your grade. attendance isnt required so i didnt go and still did ok. like i said, if you use the tests from last semester to study with you dont ever have to go to class.

Had a MWF class, Friday classes were review only so no new info was ever covered. About 5 short essay questions per test, usually with some sort of graph or picture, but it always came word for word from notes. So be sure to right down everything he writes on the board(and draws). He is a nice guy that would like good class participation, but doesn't get to bent out of shape if people aren't volunteering. He tends to only call on those that would know the answer. Studying for the test is a must!
The only previously covered material on the final came from past exams, plus there was new.

I took this class on Tuesday/Thursday and we never stayed longer than an hour. He explains material well and doesnt go too fast. His test were relatively easy if you study. You have to buy the textbook online which i think was like $60 and you have to do homework online which sucks at times because it's due on a deadline. Dont wait till an hour before its due to start.

Mr. Goff is a nice guy and extremely smart man. But if you have to take Stats 306 after you have taken 206 do NOT take Goff. What he teaches you in 206 in no way prepares you for 306. He teaches SPSS and some other formulas but for the most part all I could use from his class when I went on to 306 was standard deviation. There is only one teacher (Noser) for 306 and his whole first test is supposed to be review. If you had Goff for 206 it is all brand new. On the other hand if your stats career stops after 206 take Goff. The class is fairly easy and he usually lets you out early.

Dr. Goff touches on topics but does not explain them very well and the examples he uses in class you have no access to so it doesn't help to copy them down. Your grade consists of three computer assignments and three tests. I don't reccomend him unless your good at catching on to things and learning on your own.

His test are copy and paste from his previous test and he post them online for you to look over. There are three assigments you have to do that arent hard. He will help you with them also. One of the best classes and teachers ive had at western

Dr. Goff is a great guy who has trouble speaking becuase of a surgery he had a couple of years ago. I took it on a MWF class and he only makes you meet MW friday is just a review day if u wish to attend but i never did. The class is optional to attend and the exams from the previous semester is online at his web site so if u study those you should have no prob in the class and you have to do 3 excel projects but you can have a partner and they take 30 min each and worth 100 points easy A.

DO NOT take this mans class. Unless you are a genius and can teach yourself everything, you have no chance at a high grade. He is an ass whenever you come to his office to ask questions. You have assignments that are 40% of your grade and are WAY hard to figure out and he won't help you at all. I suggest taking anyone else you can find.

Dr. Goff is a very good professor for this subject. He explains things in a very easy way. He also teaches the material that you will actually use instead of subjects that you will never see again. We had 3 test, 2 during the semester and a final that covered new material and old materail. We also had assisgnment that we had to turn in that weren't very hard. He also post examples of his old test on his website. If you study these you will do fine on the test because a lot of the questions come directly from these. He's a great person and professor. I wouldn't take anyone else.

If you go to class and do the assignments, you'll do well on the tests. There is no class on Fridays, so a MWF is really a MW, which is always good. He even posts the tests from the previous semester for you to study, and he really on changes the numbers, so the questions are pretty much the same.

This class is required for Business Econ-majors, but this can be used as an elective for Econ-Majors, and Econ-Minors. This class is easy, and he is a wonderful professor. There are two tests mid-term and final worth 30%, there are up to 6 quizzes worth 30%,and the two lowest will be dropped, and there are 6 computer assignments worth 40%,and the lowest assignment will be dropped. Also, students can receive up to a 2% increase in their grade for attending class and being courteous. This grading policy favors the student big time. Students should never be late, because he will get upset. Finally, he is one the best professors and persons, so I highly recommend him.

DR Goff makes a difficult subject somewhat easy. Does not use confusing graphs that usually accompany economics. Use the previous tests he gives you on his website and you will be fine. Class usually does not last more than a 1/2 hour because his voice cannot tolerate it for longer than that. Great guy, highly recommend.

What you learn here you learn from yourself. Lectures for a half hour, then dismisses. Drones on about totally irrelevnt subjects. Barely touches the textbook. A bad experience all around.
