He expects a lot from the students. He asks for the homework to be done before he gives the lecture and go through the material. He also announces extra credits at the beginning of the term but never really gives it. He calls on students in class which makes most of them forget what they even wanted to say.

This isn't a hard class to keep up with, it is very redundant. It's more knowing the vocabulary and steps rather then doing the actual math. Dr. Little does challenge you. He does not go over the material covered by the homework assignments until the day following it was due. He does this so you could teach yourself and he can reinforce what you learned. He does require a little more effort but curve's graciously depending on your efforts. "You should know what you don't know before you come to class." -Dr. Little

He made you do the assignments online before he ever went over the material. Also, the first test is the hardest. A lot more of the material was over information out of the book rather than how to actually work the problems.

Dr. Little knows what he is talking about and seems to love accounting but he has an odd way of teaching it. Throughout the entire course, whenever we started a new chapter, we would have a homework assignment and be required to read the chapter and teach the information to ourselves instead of him teaching us and then assigning homework. For a full-time college student with a full-time job, this did not come easy. I would only recommend Dr. Little if you are willing to give accounting ALL of your attention throughout the entire semester.

Have fun teaching yourself. Class is simply watching him do problems that he hasnt taught you the material over. Doesnt explain anything in words that people understand. Makes everything more difficult than it really is.

Dr. Little is a little intimidating at first. The homework isn't mandatory but it makes the class a lot easier if you work through the problems before you come to class. Most of the class is spent going over the homework problems. He makes it sound like you have to teach yourself the material, but he goes over it all several times in class. I didn't like the fact that he makes a point to call on every person every class, but if you don't want to answer he won't make you. Dr. Little is a great accounting teacher, even for non-accounting majors, and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Little is a wonderful teacher. He cares how his students do in his class, however he is a stickler about doing homework. He want everyone to put effort into the class. You dont have to do the homework because he works the problems in class. It just helps to understand the information before he teaches it.

Grading Schedule:
Exams: 300 pts. (3 exams, 100 pts. each)
Homework & Quizzes: 75 pts. (Points earned/Points Possible x 75 pts.)
Final: 125 pts.
The exams can be tough if you don't do the questions he assigns at the end of the chapters and the brief exercises. He posts the answers to the brief exercises though and answers questions you have on blackboard before the test. In class, he'll go over a lot of the problems that he assigns which are a lot like the ones you have when testing.
Dr. Little is a great teacher but expects that you read the text and attempt to work the problems before class so that when you're there you "know what you don't know." There is usually a quiz and homework assignment over each chapter, but they're not very difficult and a lot of the homework assignments are done online with multiple attempts. The quizzes are given at the end of class after he's discussed the material on them.
The final is cumulative (chapters 1-11) but isn't hard if you study for it and he gives you review points before the final to make sure you know what to study.

This is not an easy class to pass. This class moves quickly and you must be able to see the "big picture." This class is not impossible, but you must have the ability to spend time on your own to study. Dr. Little is a great teacher. He spends a lot of time in class just going over and over problems, but trust me when it comes time for the test you will remember the way he worked the problems during the class.
Do the homework problems, they add up and really help to push your grade on up. Dr. Little is great and probably one of the better accounting teachers.
Good luck!

Dr. Little is a great professor. He utilizes Blackboard for discussion forums, online quizzes, and grades. Additionally, he posts answers to homework problems after the first class in which we've covered the material, so this is a definite plus and helps in getting homework completed without the frustration. Homework is to be completed in either Excel or Word. There are four exams plus a cumulative final.
Interactions with Dr. Little were always first-rate. He is accessible to students, gives timely responses to questions, and is in general a likeable person. Dr. Little is fair and gives points wherever he can. His tests are often worth more points than you are graded on, so that works to your advantage.
There were, however, several things I didn't care for:
1. Dr. Little believes firmly in the student having read the chapter prior to coming to class and then using class time to answer questions about homework. He lectures only as needed and uses the homework problems to work his lectures in. But while my personal preference is to hear lecture first, then apply it to homework problems, I would have to say doing it his way was effective overall.
2. I very much disliked the impending pop quiz always hanging over my head. He had pop quizzes more toward the beginning of the semester, then switched to online quizzes in the middle and toward the latter end.
3. Just keep in mind he will call on people. He makes an effort to learn people's names and then doesn't mind putting you on the spot. Do your homework, read your chapter, and you'll be fine.
These drawbacks, however, are very minor in the big picture, and I would highly recommend Dr. Little.

Dr. Little is a great professor who does an excellent job of teaching the material on an easy-to-understand level. The material of the class is not the easiest, but Dr. Little works to help the students in any way possible. His tests are hard, but with some effort you can do well on them. He does give some homework, but he goes over most of it in class so that you know if you did it correctly or not. He does require some participation on your part, but he does a good job of walking you through the problems if you don't understand. Overall, I liked the challenge the class offered as well as Dr. Little's approach to teaching the subject.

Dr. Little is a very good teacher and is very willing to help outside of class if you have problems. He does expect you to read the book and come to class prepared and he will know because he calls on people alot in class. His tests are hard but if you do the homework and come to class they are manageable- he doesnt try and trick you. The class average was usually in the high 70s Alot of the quizzes we did in groups and we had inclass assignments that helped to boost your overall grade. Take this class if you want to learn something.

Accounting is a difficult course for most people, but I thought Dr. Little to be very helpful and a great professor. He makes slides available for notes. He gives homework quizzes, but after you take it, he lets you get with someone to check your answers before turning it in. I would recommend taking the book's practice quizzes and tests online because he uses some of the questions for the test. He also helps to put the department final together, so some of his test questions are on there. He also will give a few opportunities for extra credit. The class will become difficult if you don't show up to class and you don't spend time outside of class studying (this would be true for any accounting class, no matter who the professor is)!

Dr. Little is a very good teacher! If you do not do the practice problems that he recommends then you will fall behind. Ask him questions, he has no problem with helping you with homework or if you were struggling. The key to getting good grades is to do the practice problems that he assigns, complete the study guides for the tests, do the review problems at the end of each chapter, and lastly ask questions!!!! He does not mind helping!!

Dr. Little is a very personable man and will help any student that needs it (if you come to him). The only thing that bothers me about him is that he tries to trick you on the exams with the T/F questions. He thinks it is funny. You have 4 tests and a final- all multiple choice. He will give a few quizzes in class but usually tells you about them. You may struggle a bit in this class so you may want to try and find an easier professor. If you do take him, just go to him the minute you have a problem... he is very nice.

Dr. Little is a great teacher. He gives several examples of how managerial accounting is used in the real world based on his past experience in industry. He challenges his students to prepare for class by givng quizzes (some of which are group quizzes; at least one per chapter) on the previous day's classwork or homework. He does expect you to be prepared, so good study habits are important. He is MORE THAN FAIR...he gives extra questions on every exam. Even though he says that he does not give extra chances, he does, if you run into trouble. But you have to go see him. You WILL BE PREPARED FOR EXAMS, if YOU are willing to do what he asks. PS, managerial accounting is nothing like financial accounting (ACCT200), so this course is like a "new day." Take Dr. Little, but be prepared to study.

Dr. Little is a very smart man, yes, I'll give him that. However, he is a TERRIBLE teacher. His class averages are really low and he will not curve them. I did Ok in the class only because I taught myself everything. On top of being a bad teacher about ten times a day he calls random people out in class and makes them look dumb in front of everybody if they don't know the answer. There are better options so don't take Little!

Dr. Little seemed to know a lot about ACCT, but he doesn't really know how to teach/explain it that well. If you take this course, be prepared to do a lot of studying and you must do the assigned homework. He doesn't take up homework, but he does give a lot of pop quizzes and it helps to be prepared for them. You will have about 15 pop quizzes and there are times he tells you a problem in the book and you'll have to turn it in completed at the next class period. If you don't want to study for quizzes before every class period, then this class isn't for you. I would recommend that you take another teacher because I busted my chops in this class. Good luck!!

Don't do it, you have to teach yourself everything. He dosen't teach during class unless you ask him very specific questions even then he is smug about it and intiminating to a lot of people.Pop quizzes out the butt and the class Avg. will be about 55% on every test, no curve and he dosen't round grades up.He often starts class early and when you come in on time he asks to talk to you after class.I did pretty good on the first test then bombed the second as many did and there is no way to catch up if you do.So ignore the good posts cause you want somebody else for sure.

Dr. Little likes to give a lot of pop quizzes, so if you miss a day that he gives a quiz, then you're already down quite a few points. He doesn't give away much info as to what's on the test, but he does give a review sheet for the test, and each test allows you to miss 3-4 problems without being penalized. Not a bad professor.
