I really enjoyed her class and thought she was a good teacher. If you talk with her about your grade she is more than willing to help you get what you think you deserve. She emails you back within a couple hours of emailing her. Her tests were very easy as long as you studied. You don't have to take notes in class because she posts them onto blackboard. The final exam was very easy (again, as long as you study.) I received a 102% on it because there was extra credit offered within the exam. I studied for each exam for maybe 3 hours. I definately recommend her.

when it comes to this teacher, i suggest steer clear of her. she is an awful teacher and she doesn't know how to teach. she won't get over the fact she is getting her doctorate soon just so she can hang around old people all the time (she won't shut up about it). her tests are not a walk in the park, but to give her credit you are allowed a giant 5"x8" notecard. but overall dumb class don't take unless if you want to question your very existence.

Honestly shes the worst teacher Ive had. She can't explain anything. She ask the class questions and wont move on from it. Don't take her if you have an option. Im not satisfied with anything in the class. She makes us read our books to learn and doesn't teach. To make things worse she gets hot over the dumbest stuff, exploding at students for having phones. I mean its disrespectful but don't feel the need to try and embarass the student. I mean even I'll have mine out to check the time but come on...

Great teacher, will help you out as much as possible, sort of hard to get used to her style of teaching, but if you're a good student, you'll do fine

Psychology is my major and this was my first psych class in college. She made me want to switch my major! She is an awful teacher. She told us she was just here to do her dissertation and she didn't want to be there teaching. She is a very sweet lady but she should definitely not be a teacher. She just reads the power points straight from the board and never knows an answer to anyone's questions. Her test are RIDICULOUS. You don't even know how to study because she refuses to give you any help on what the test will be over. Yes I know it isn't high school but she says read the notes you'll be fine. The test is never over the notes! Also, the questions are all like scenarios and they are so hard to comprehend. If you want an easy A do NOT take this course.

Ortz is a good person. But she's easily one of the worst teachers i've ever had. It was her first time every teaching so i give her that. But i would ask her a question, a reasonable one that she should know the answer to and she would just straight up say "i dont know" .... personally i don't think that's good. Her test were ridiculously hard. No chance for extra credit. The only grades were from tests and if you bombed those, then you're just out of luck. Try to get someone else if you want to enjoy this class.

Ms. Ortz is a new teacher and does not know how to teach. She will assign a chapter for each class period and then puts the notes together through a powerpoint which she presents the next class period. Then, however, she will put the powerpoint of notes on blackboard. I had absolutely no motivation to go to class just to take notes over what I had already taken notes over for an hour and a half. Her tests are too difficult to go along with how she teaches, I am an A student and did not make over a B on her tests. Do not take her whether you are a Psych Major or just need the class to fulfill Gen Ed requirements.

Dr. Ortz teaches like she doesn't know what she is doing. The material itself isn't hard... She's jut not good at explaining it in a way that you will understand it.
