Additional Comments |
This class is purely notes. He may hand out some information, but every class is strictly note taking. He asks for short simple homework assignments every once in a while, and sometimes doesn't even take them up. Your grade depends on the exams and play reviews. He does not take attendance but if you miss class, you need to have someone who takes good notes to depend on. Before each exam, he takes a day to review everything that is going to be on the exam and answers any questions. He is very theatrical and artsy. He tells many stories about his theatre experiences, which really keeps the class interesting if you're bored by theatre facts. For the play reviews, he tells you exactly what he is looking for in outline form. The review has to be around 4 pages but if you answer all of those questions then you have an A. I made my own study guides for each exam, which I greatly suggest, and earned A's on every one. He does not try to be difficult at all and is really easy to talk to if you need to take the exam at another time or have a question about your grade. He does not use Blackboard but will answer your emails. I'm an English major, and he made me wish I was in theatre.
