I took this as an online winter term, and it is the most busy work I have ever seen. There are 9 chapters, and for each chapter you read an article, write a summary, and then take a quiz. Each quiz has seven essay questions. The work is not hard, it is just time consuming. Also, put everything in your own words. Don't quote any source in an essay, even if you cite the source, because he considers it plagiarism.

I took this course online and I loved it. While taking exam my Mozilla Firefox crashed twice, Professor Deere was kind enough to let me retake it. He responded my email and phone quickly. I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking for an easy general education. You will learn a lot from this class.

I took this class online and it was easy, but it was time-consuming. Every week, you have to complete a summary of an online article, and then do about ten or so questions on the weekly chapter. However, I thought the workload was reasonable considering the fact that you don't have to attend a lecture. There are only two tests and they are both open-book, open-note. Dr. Deere was generally very quick to e-mail me back when I had questions. Overall, I was happy with this class and the professor.

I took this class over winter term and it was the easiest thing ever. All of the answers are right in the book and you are allowed to use it on all assignments, the midterm, and the final. I would reccommend this to anyone who is looking to take a gen ed online.

If you take him in a TR class, he only keeps you an hour, maybe less. He's a really nice guy, and animated as well. As long as you study the notes, the quizzes/tests are EASY!

I took this class as a web course. This class is certainly not hard; it just requires keeping up with assignments most every week. These assignments are questions over the book and short summaries of web sites. They take up probably less time than an actual class would. The tests are fairly easy, as they are multiple choice out of the book. It is difficult to get into this class as it fills up quickly. The only complaint was that I could not sell back the book. And It is absolutely imperative to have the book as everything comes out of it.
Dr. Deere seems like a nice guy and is a member of the Christian faculty group, but I never saw him. Seems kind of strange to me to never see my teacher.

You will learn alot in Dr. Deere's class! He is very laid back and understanding. The material is interesting most of the time, and when it's not, he's fully aware of it. Quizzes and tests are relatively easy. Studying for half an hour for quizzes and an hour for tests will be plenty. He tells good stories!!

This is an easy course...that's why I should have gotten an A. You don't need to go to class to get an A on the tests all you have to do is study the book, but if you don't go (even though there is absolutley no point except for the couple of in class presentations) you will get a lower grade that you don't deserve like I did. I felt like since I got A's on all the tests and aced all the presentation that it didn't matter if I went to class...WRONG! Deere is very serious about his attendance policy and will give you a lower grade if you don't follow it.

I checked "moderate" as the difficulty level for the course b/c if you are no good at bowling then you may have trouble getting an A. Your average at the end of the semester has a pretty big roll in deciding your grade. For girls, I think you had to make over 100 as your average in order to get an A in the class, I don't recall what it is for guys, something like 125 though. That's why I got a B, my average was a 99. The lanes in DUC aren't the best, so it's difficult at times to control the ball.
Randy Deere is a very funny man and a very good teacher. The other bowling teachers, I've heard, are very strict and not fun people. I recommend taking Randy Deere's bowling class, even if you don't need the credit.

Dr. Deere was a pretty cool teacher. The only test in the entire course is the final. You don't need the textbook until the time comes to study for the final and then he will give you a study guide to study from. You will have to know how to score games and be able to identify a bunch of terms that he doesn't really discuss in the course, but are in the textbook. The final is kind of hard because of that. He is very strict about attendance, but he will let you make your absense up by bowling three games at a bowling alley other than at DUC. He will also help you with any problems you may have with bowling. Overall, he is a very good teacher.

This class is cake IF you go to class. If you miss more than 3, you get your 10 participation points taken away, plus 2 points additional for every other class you miss. There are 3 tests, each multiple choice, true/false, and then there are 2 article summaries, with 1 5-minute presentation on one of the summaries. You need the book and you need to go to class to get a good grade.

This jerk (who cannot bowl to save his life) gives us a list of terms for the final that he NEVER covers in the entire class. A complete joke, and a way to grade how he wants(i.e. give his favs A's). He was a jerk about people showing up late, and just an all around bad teacher. The vocab words he tested on (which have no place in a bowling class anyway) were irrelevant. My roommate worked in a bowling alley half his life and hadn't heard of half of the terms. Bad teacher.

Dr. Deere is a hell of a guy. His tests are fairly easy, and you always know what to expect on all of them. We like him, and you should too. But you don't have to take my word for it!
