If you're an ag major, you basically have to take this course. Personally, I would recommend that you take micro and/or macro econ before taking this course. King expects you to spend a significant amount of time outside class studying. I don't think this is asking too much, but if you like to slack off, it will hurt your participation points. I've enjoyed the class so far, but I also have an interest in economics.
Basically, as long as you've looked over the notes before class & read the chapter, you'll be fine.
Also, the book is available to be checked out from the library. Check it out, don't be stupid & buy it.

Dr. Stephen King is a very, very bad teacher. Most professors go over material for the class and THEN assign homework...not King. He expects you to read the chapter in the text and complete anywhere from 10-40 questions about the chapter. Then, next class period, we half-way go over it. Attendance and participation points are awarded, but the grading on this is weird and no one really knows how he grades it. It kind of sucks that he is the only one that teaches this class, because most Ag students have to have it. So all I can say is Good Luck!!! I am currently taking the course and I CANNOT WAIT until Student Government Professor Assessments come around...King is gonna get bad marks from me!!!

Dr. King is easily the worst professor I've had class with my entire college career. His class is incredibly boring and his teaching abilities are lacking. His teaching includes reading off of his powerpoint notes and it is completely terrible. Don't take this class unless you absolutely have to, and even then, don't expect anything positive from this class.
