This is a difficult class but its only because of the topic. Dr. Autin (Oh-tan) is a wonderful professor and really cares about her students. She runs a tight ship but makes the class fun and interesting. Don't be affraid after reading her syllabus and when she starts on her participation points kick. Just do the work, get good grades, offer to go to the board every once in a while and you will walk out with a good grade. Very straight foward, black and white, cut and dry.

Dr. Autin is a really great teacher! She makes sure you know what she is talking about with every subject and if she feels like the class needs an extra credit assignment to help out, she is willing to do so! But do the assignment, don't be lazy! That could be your letter grade right there! I would definitely say take Dr. Autin!

i dislike that WKU makes certain majors take this class. We probably won't use it ever again. Not to mention this class is confusing. She is so particular, and will take fractions of points off for the littlest things. Not to mention they changed the professor about 3 hours before the class started, and I had already bought the book. This class is way too hard...

This "experimental class" is a joke. Not once did she teach us, but made us rely on our classmates in our groups for everything. I think this class would have been great had we been taught through explanation and examples rather than depending solely on the book and ourselves; the book itself was about is much help as the teacher. She is a very kind and easy to get along with but I felt let down. Your participation, enthusiasm, attendance and ability to understand effect your grade. I wouldn't be complaining at all if I had experience with statistics, but i have not and this is an intro class.

I really LOVED Dr. Autin. She is a great professor, and definitely one of my favorites.

Melanie is a great professor. The class is difficult but if you like math you will enjoy this class. The book is not required and all of the notes you take in the course are given to you. All you have to do is print them and bring them to class. She is very organized and very helpful. There were approximately 9 homework assignments which she gives you about 2 weeks to complete so if you have any questions about the homework you can ask. She also posts the solutions to every homework assignment on blackboard. She gives you plenty of practice problems to prepare you for the tests. There were 3 tests, but they were not that hard as long as you study. If you have to take this course I definitely recommend Melanie.

A lot of memorizing is necessary in this course; but Dr. Autin is great at explaining, and helping students earn their best grades. Four tests and about 6 homeworks make up the grading scale in here. Formula sheets are given for the tests as well.

Dr.Autin is a very good professor. She is very patient and knowlegable. I learned a lot from her.

Dr. Autin is an amazing professor. I was super nervous about taking this class because I am terrible at math. She is honestly one of the best professors, especially in math, that i have ever had. She always made time to help you if you needed it and was overal fun to be around. Even though i still hate math, i really did enjoy going to class because she made it as fun as it could be. She really does love what she teaches and you can tell. I'd recommend to ANYONE to take her. She's definitely worth it. Please dont believe the previous comment about her. Its by far the farthest thing from the truth and it angers me that someone would say such things about this teacher.

She is helpless and picky; also she explains the materials as she would do with

elementary school math. you would see killing problems

that are very different from the ones you get in the assignments and the discussion.

She could not deny her racisms with me.
