Additional Comments
Professor Gibson is by far one of the most rude people I have ever met. On many occassions in class he called students out and embarrassed them, whether it be playing with your hair or just looking around the room. He wants all eyes on him. He speaks in a condescending tone to students and has a very unprofessional manner when addressing private issues with students. At the beginning of the class, he made attendance a huge issue, took it daily, but then did not give any points or grade for attendance. Also, students are required to attend 3 concerts and write review papers over them, however we did not receive a grade for them, but they did count against us if they were not completed. The grade is comprised of 4 tests, which he constantly changes the format of, making it hard to prepare for. In addition, he arranges the questions using matching, therefore if you miss one you automatically miss two. Teaching is Mr. Gibson's second job, as he is the music director for a church near campus. As a fellow Christian I feel his demeanor in class was an embarrassment to Chrsitians everywhere. He did not show compassion or humility to his students and was overall rude and arrogant. I would never recommend him to anyone. Perhaps he should stick to directing music, though as I attended one of his concerts, he wasn't too great at that either.
