Be ready to learn on your own and know in advance this teacher loves sarcasm, insulting people, and does not like to be challanged. She does not stay on subject and doesn't act like any prof I've had before. If you can take another teacher it would be a wise choice!

She was such a good teacher. She did not pick favorites and everything was fair. She was very funny. She did not have a tolorence for lazy or stupid people. If you did your work and you at least gave some effrot to the class, you passed. I wish that I COULD HAVE HAD HER FOR ALL OF MY ENGLISH CLASS'S.

Vicki inspired me more than any other professor I have ever had. All she asks of you is that you show up to class and do the work. She is extremely quick with emails. I contacted her several times outside class for help and she was lightening fast. She is tough, but fair. I learned so much from her and I can certainly see why many of her students would take her class again. If your looking for an easy "A" take someone else, but if you actually want to LEARN something, take her. One more thing that will save your life in her class..........READ THE SYLLABUS!!!!!!

So, the first review is pretty off base. Ms. Samson is my favorite professor so far at Western and I will be starting my Sr. year in the fall. She is very helpful and interested in the students as people, not just names on paper. I think a prof. like that is rare on the Hill (in my experience anyway).

Ms. Samson was a great teacher who really tries to get students to think for themselves. There are only 3 papers the entire semester and she gives you so much time to get them done and help from the students in your class. Our final was so easy, if you just pay attention in class you will get an A on it. Take her, and don't be intimadated in the beginning because she's really awesome!!!

Vicki was awesome. I am in this class right now and she never said everyone in the class would fail. She grades fairly. There are only 3 papers the entire semester, and we never take notes. As long as you do the minimum requirements then you get a C. What she was trying to say is that she wants you to work hard to earn your A and helps you become a better writer. There are no tests or quizzes, just your papers. I thought I would get a C on the first paper but I got an A. Don't be scared in the beginning, because it's all an act and she turned out to be a pretty cool lady.

Don't even pay attention to that other eval here! This is a great teacher who really cares about her students. BTW, she NEVER said no one would pass the class. Just look at what that lameass wrote and you can see he/she is a whiner: If this prof really said that a C is a "gift," then a C would pass, right? Figure it out. This teacher is definitely going to be tough, but so far, she's great and she has already helped me so much with my writing, even out of class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

RUN!!! The devil has been giving a teaching position on Western's campus!! She told us that no one would pass the class and she truthfully believes that a C is the best grade that anyone in college should recieve. She is under the impression that an F is an average grade to recieve. RUN!! If I didn't make myself clear before, RUN!!!
