I took this teacher over winter term, the class moved fast but the teacher was great. I would highly recommend this teacher to fulfill the gen ed requirement for public speaking. She relates well with the students and she is easygoing and funny. Perfect match for a speech class.

Mrs. Waltz is a very moderate teacher. She allows you to succeed if you are willing to work for it. Her class is fun, and she interacts with her students very well. She gives extra-credit opportunities many times throughout the course. She grades the speeches very easily. The tests are a little difficult, because there are computer generated about the material through the textbook. All in all, It's a gen ed requirement, and Mrs. Waltz seems to understand that. If you don't take her, you will regret it.

Sheri was an awesome professor. She made public speaking much more manageable for me. I like everyone else was very nervous but Sheri just seemed to make it a little more doable. She doesn't grade real hard and isn't looking for perfection, but is looking for improvement. The notes we took in class were from the power point slides she provides on blackboard. There was plenty of extra credit to help you out so you could make up lost points. If you go to class and do the work it is an easy A. She was very down to earth and I thought she talked more at my level not over my head or like she was then anyone else. VERY patient person!!! I would Highly recommend her to anyone. My favorite professor so far!

She tried to make the class as fun and interactive as possible, but some of the activities are a little elementary and seem like a waste of time. The requirements for her outlines and speeches are very specific but she doesn't grade the actual speech very harshly. She gives specific dates for outlines, etc to be turned in so you can't just wing your speech. The tests are partially made of questions the book generates so they're difficult. You can print the powerpoint slides off Blackboard so there is little need to take notes in class. She gives very little extra credit, maybe one or two opportunities. She does give attendance points & take points off your final grade if you miss too many classes. She was very caring and considerate of students and their individual needs.

Sheri, what she asks you to call her, is great. She is the most understanding professor I have ever had. You write your speech in the correct form and you get 100 on your outline. If you give your speech decently you get an A. She is great w/ communication and always posts when things are due so you are never guessing. She did not make this required public speaking class any more difficult than it had to be. She also has a nice personality and is very laid back. She doesn't care if you text in class.

You have your 3 main speeches that are all really easy. Sheri is a fun teacher, but you can only miss one time or she takes major points off your grade. I would reccommend her.

It's all about the speeches. 3 main speeches and she breaks them down and makes them very simple, she was fun and a good teacher. She does ask that you read the textbook before class sessions just so you can keep up, but all powerpoints are posted and only a few class notes outside the powerpoints. Tests are easy and it was overall fun class.
