Dr. Ervin gave a lot of work for being a general education class. I found myself stressing over and working longer hours on the material needed for his class rather than my important major classes. His grading policies are horrible and I often had to wait 4 to 5 weeks (at least) to receive grades. In fact, I never received a grade in a decent amount of time. In an english class feedback on your drafts is extremely important which I did not get and therefore I received a B in the class when I more than deserved an A.

Dr. Ervin is the WORST english teacher I have ever had. He knows what he is talking about but cannot teach the class. His office is open for help but even when he tells you, you did something right he gives you a "C" or lower. I thought he was way too hard/difficult for English 100 and other teachers are much easier.

He is a great teacher and he really cares about his students. He is always there to help either in his office or by email. He doesn't grade you on grammar, but rather on quality and he provides helpful feedback ALWAYS.
