Dr. Li teaches very fairly, and effectively. He will go over the notes several times, making ignorance of them completely inexcusable. Anything he covered from last class will be quickly reviewed next class, and some new content covered at the end, leading to alot of repeating, but this works well for memorization and familiarity with the subject matter. In addition, his classroom exercises are very effective, and are basically test questions, though not exactly the same problems that will be on the test, so study them well, and know how to do the problems he gives you. In addition to the hands-on problems, his tests are about 50% definitions, so understand the topic, and be able to talk about it knowledgably, since his definition questions sometimes ask for a deep understanding of the difference between things, or the subject. Also, he does not use power-points at all (yay!), and really understands his subject, unlike some professors I have had, so take him. He certainly is not a difficult professor, so long as you do your work, and I really recommend him for 400+ level CS courses.
