Additional Comments
There was talk of this course changing in the fall, so some of these comments may not apply.

Even though you sign up for a lecture on two days a week, you only attend the first day each week. Dr. Crews gave the lectures this semester. He knows the material and tries to make it interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there were questions on each exam based on things said in lecture and not contained in the book. So you should go.

Most of the labs lasted about 30 to 40 minutes. Mrs. Hill talked for a little while and sometimes took the students through a computer exercise. At the end of each lab there was a 5-question quiz over material only from the lab, not from that week's lecture. The quizzes were worth 20% of the total grade.

There were 10 SAM projects due throughout the semester. They take a little time, but you have 5 attempts on each one to get the maximum points. I did most of mine during spring break to get them over with. All of those are worth another 20% of your total grade.

There were 3 exams, each worth 20% of the total grade. A study guide is provided ahead of time. Completing that and using your lecture notes will get you an A on each test. The tests were given during the lab period. There is no final but you are allowed to retake one of the regular exams during finals week to try to raise your grade.

If you put a little time into it, this course is an easy A.
