This is a difficult 100 level course. Like the other reviews state: you better be able to paraphrase and be able to point out important details. He lectures straight from memory and is very knowledgeable in that sense. There are 2 book reports that you have to do over a book of your choice, and his exams are very difficult. Still, if you study hard and take good notes, its not impossible to get an A in his class, as I did it. He does drop the first exam and with good reason, 2/3 of my class failed the first exam...one person got a 0/100 on it. Jack is a sexist, prejudice, racist professor and does not care. He is EXTREMELY conservative and canceled class the day President Obama won the election... he said "enjoy the end of the world." Take him if you really want a challenge or if you want to experience what college is really like. Also, I didn't even bother buying the book and did fine without it so save yourself some money.
