Additional Comments |
Dr. Rice is an alright professor, considering the difficulty of the subject. Molecular Cell Biology is a very detail specific course and Dr. Rice takes advantage of that. You REALLY have to know what you are talking about for her exams because there are roughly 25-30 multiple choice and the rest is short answer. The short answer really test your knowledge by asking you abstract questions over the exam material to the point where it gets ridiculous. She does post practice questions on blackboard along with the notes so that does alleviate some of the difficulty. Overall this is a somewhat difficult class as long as you really study before the exams. She expects you to memorize specific proteins, enzymes, etc...and to know how each of them effect each other during transcription/translation. Also, I bought the book for the class but did not look at it at all, so don't bother buying it....all questions come from the powerpoints that are used in class.
