I took this class online and it was very easy and required minimal effort to get an A. If you need something to pad your GPA, take this class.

Mrs. Peeler is SO NICE! The topics are interesting. I paid attention and went to class everyday. Then, the night before a test, I looked over the topics she had on the study guide and all the notes and got an A on every test. TAKE HER!

Jan Peeler is a good teacher. She knows her subject well, and is good at teaching it. Attendance is required, we got three absences, then she started taking off points. You have to do a service project, 15 hours of community service, but its pretty easy. I just went to a nursing home and talked and read to the patients for like an hour at a time. You have to write a paper that is the majority of your grade. If you aren't a good test taker, this class is good for you. the test are only 30 points each, your paper is worth 40, and you have 20 points for attendance. She made two of our class periods optional to come to, and if you showed up to those she sometimes gave extra credit. She'll do whatever she can to help you out. I got a B in the class, only because of my attendance grade, i missed 8 days.

Mrs. Peeler is probably one of the most boring teachers I've had at WKU. She definitely cares about social work and everything, but she doesn't get the class very involved in lecture. Don't get me wrong, the class is pretty easy as long as you actually go and pay attention. It's a chore to make yourself go to her class. I learned the most from the 15 hours of Social Agency Community Service I had to do outside of class than I did actually sitting and boring myself to death in her classroom. The community service hours were the only thing I enjoyed about this class. If any other teacher is available for this class, I recommend taking them instead.

She is a very loving and nice professor. Her class is very easy, a lot of discussion is involved. The tests are pretty straight-forward, most is even common sense.

Do NOT take this class! Its only on a 200 point scale. 3 tests worth 30 pts, 1 paper, 15pts of attendence, and volunteer 15 hrs community service. seems easy, but its not enough points to get you a good grade

Ms. Peeler is a very kind and considerate woman. She is very understanding as well. She is a very excellent teacher. I enjoyed having her. If you are a social work major, take her class because you have to volunteer at a Social Service agency of some sort(which really lets you get a feel for the field). I highly recommend her class!!!

This independant study course was for the Mobile Health Unit. You are required to spend 20-25 hours on the unit with Beth Whitfield (Nursing) who is the sweetest woman in the world. I also had a masters student for a supervisor that I checked in with. You keep a journal of your experiences on the unit and need to work at the Salvation Army at least once. You are also required to make follow-up phone calls to clients from the unit who are refered to see a doctor to make sure they have the resources and are able to do that. This was a fantastic class. Additionally you will be required to teach a group of children something they need to know. It could be brushing their teeth or time management or whatever the need is. This is a flexible and fun class. I would recommend it to anyone! Just be aware that Ms. Peeler is a bit of a scatterbrain, but she is still very, very nice.

Dr Peeler is a very good teacher and makes class interesting. Her test can be difficult if you do not study but if you use the study guides you will do very well. Make sure that you get the community service hours done at the beginning and don't put them off(you only have to do fifteen and any type of place that you can work with people). That is only a small part of the class so don't let it keep you from taking the class.

This class is easy and boring, yet I actually learned a lot. The tests are easy and to the point, there is only what you need to know. The only problem was the mandatory 15 volunteer hours worth 10% of your grade. I did not have time to do these yet I still have a high B. If you take this course, do not procrastinate on the hours!

The class is boring, but its easy. The overheads she uses for the class lecture are word for word of the test. She also tells you what you need to study for the tests. You are required to read a book, write a 5-6 page paper over the book, and complete 15 volunteer hours. Take her for this course.

Mrs. Peeler is a very sweet lady who is always willing to help you out. I personally have no interest in Social Work, therefore the class did not appeal to me. Her lectures can be boring, because she talks in monotone. You only have one paper to turn in to her and 5 volunteer hours. Her test can be simple, but you must read the chapters.

Mrs. Peeler has the notes for you to copy so you don't have to write them. She is an awesome teacher. She makes the material interesting and is clear about what she wants you to learn. There is one paper. !% Volunteer hours and 4 tests with 25 multiple choice and 5 T/F on each test. She gives a test review. This is an easy class. You can pass the tests from notes only.

Mrs.Peeler is a professor who understands that her students do have other classes and cannot devote every momment of their lives' to an intro class. If she doesn't say it in class then it won't be on the test. She is very straight forward and I would recommend anyone, even if you're not a social work major, to take the class.
