This class is not for students who aren't serious about their education and their grades, I will say that much. Dr. Florea is entertaining and refreshingly corny at times, and he tries to keep it interesting. I would advise anyone to study more than usual for the quizzes or tests. I stayed up very late one night studying for a quiz, but I got a 50/50 and felt very satisfied. It isn't impossible to do well, basically you get out what you put in. He offered an extra credit free trip to Mammoth Cave. Overall this class has taught me how to be a better student, and I've leanred some interesting facts along the way.

This is Lee Florea posting to defend his record against the earlier posts to this list. I am new to WKU, but I have taught for 15 years and have a degree in secondary education. The comment that I have no clue is baseless. From my perspective, the 100-level course I taught in the Fall of 2008 was challenging. Attendance was well below my target, student participation was far below my standards, and final grades were below my expectations. When asked about their seeming lack of interest, the most common response was that 9:10 in the morning is way too early for class. I have tried real hard to understand this perspective and think back to my first few semesters as an undergraduate. I find, however, that I cannot accept this notion. Is it possible that these students are either inexperienced and/or lazy? I am certain that some in the class acquired useful knowledge and expanded their horizons. I am a firm believer that college should be challenging and rewarding. If you are here to learn, I will help you in any way that I can on your journey. If you are looking for an easy A, do not sign up for my classes. If you are in college to goof off, I ask that you leave and save the professors the trouble of babysitting.

He was the WORST teacher I have ever had. He is new to Western and he does't have a clue. He give quizzes 5 questions worth 10 points each. If you do bad then your screwed. He doesn't give extra credit and the midterm was horrible. He gives you a three page study guide then he changes the questons so your basically screwed. I recommend if your a serious student NEVER take any of his classes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
