This course is very demanding. Dr. Carraco is scatterbrained at times but you will learn a ton in her class. She lectures and I would highly recommend taking a computer to type the notes. She doesn't typically give grades/papers back and you probably won't know your grade till the end of the semester but if you want to take a course where you will learn things take this one.

She is absolutely CRAZY! The only reason I got an A in this course was because we had a P.A.S.S session every week with a guy named Paul and before tests he really helped a lot. Had it not been for him I would have failed for sure because she jumps from one things to another, and she loses EVERYTHING. It took her months and months to get tests back to us.

If you have to take Kentucky History you are going to have to take her even though she is horrible since she is the only teacher who teaches Kentucky History. I NEVER once got back any of my papers or tests. We have readings we are supposed to do every week and I never got feedback on them or anything. I ended up with a B in the class but I don't have a clue what I messed up on. I feel like I didn't learn anything because I never received any papers or feedback. I wish I didn't have to take her and if you can don't take her!!!!

Dr. Carraco is a great teacher! She's a really funny lady and really likes her students. She's a little erratic in her lecturing so you have to pay attention to her to be able to pick out what is important information and what isn't. Overall this was an easy class especially with all the extra credit she gives you. Her tests are mainly essay with a few multiple choices. The final isn't cumulative but she does include an essay question that deals with things learned throughout the course (i.e. Discuss how religion evolved in the ancient world). If you take Hist 119 then you should definitly take her.

Do not take this class as a correspondence course. This was the most awful thing I have ever done. You will never get your lessons back,so when you do take the final you will be studying things that may not be right. She was not helpful at all, and is too busy to do this course. I recommend that you take the course in a classroom, and not the correspondence. AWFUL!!

I would highly reccomend Mrs. Carraco for this class. It is a tough class, but she is the best teacher. She is always telling jokes and cutting up with the class. As long as you pay attention and take notes in class you will do fine. There will be 5 quizzes, 2 tests, a paper and a final.

Dr. Carraco is an excellent professor. Her tests are geared toward exactly what was taught in class. Very few surprises on the tests. Be prepared to read a lot! and write a lot!

mid-term and final. Readings each week and a paper discussing them. Two term papers. You get to pretend to be a king or queen from that period. She likes the Tudor period better than the Stuarts who to her are not as interesting. So you get a crash course on the Stuarts the day before the final. She spends the first 15 minutes of the class period talking about currents events or finding her lost notes. She is however very concerned about her students and if you like work go for it.

She puts it to you! Readings every week with an analysis paper. Plus you can expect to live in the KY building. Tons of projects!!!! with papers included. If you like research you'll love this class. If not don't go there.
