I HATED this professor if it came down to EVER taking him again or dropping out of school I would literally drop out. I've had easier 400 level math classes. The whole class period you literally take notes, if you ask a question he usually will not stop his class to answer, he shows up for class late EVERYDAY and usually brings his kid but if you try to bring yours inside even ONCE he will ask you to leave. The material is not hard but his teaching is, he says he requires the around $215 book but I literally NEVER opened it never even took it to class then tried to go sell it back and only got $15 bucks so save yourself some money. He will NOT tell you whats going to be on either one of the tests and each one is about 200 questions. He gave us a study guide for the mid-term in my class two nights before the test and I studied it morning day and night got to the test and there was not even one question somewhat like any of the ones on the study guide. He also grades on a curve, if he feels you deserve an A you get the A, but if he feels you deserve an D you get the D. This man is very rude and inconsiderate, family emergency or not if your not there its not his problem. He works for NASA or is part of their group or something and he thinks he is god. I was pregnant and had MANDATORY doctor appointments brought doctors notes and notes showing him a few days before and I still was not allowed to make ANYTHING I missed up. I do not recommend this man whatsoever. You will regret taking him especially if he does not like you or if you do not speak up in class because you will not get a good grade. He does not care if you pass or fail because he still gets paid regardless and he will tell you this at the start of class.

McGruder is one of the WORST teachers I have ever had. His lectures are long, boring, and make no sense. He jumps around on topics and notes make no sense when you need to study. I would get the book and use it to study. The tests SUCK!!! They are huge and don't go over anything he talks about. The only saving grace is his huge grading curve. His scale is horrible and the two tests make up the majority of your grade. He gives random quizzes and they are easy he leaves the notes on the board behind him. There are two planetariums and two labs all are easy. His attitude is completely shitty, he just rambles all the time and thinks he is God or something. He treats students like inferior beings. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS!!!!!! You will not regret it at all.

Dr. McGruder is a great teacher. He really knows his subject and takes the time to answer everyone's questions. He tells you to buy a book but you don't really need it. He never takes attendance but he does give random pop quizzes that are pass/fail and if you are absent without an excuse then you fail. Overall I liked this class and Dr. McGruder.
