Additional Comments |
I studied more for Professor Phillip's class than I did for all my other classes combined. He gives tons of notes in class, but he jumps from one subject to another so quickly that its hard to make any sense of your notes when you read them later. I did almost all of my studying from the textbook (he said 99% of the test material you can get from the book), but he still had questions on the exams like "Who was the only person to not look like an idiot during the Crimean War?" which you would obviously have to come to class to find out. He makes you think that the tests will be pretty easy; they're half multiple choice and half essay, and he tells you all the essay topics beforehand. The multiple choice questions are a pain, though (most of questions are about little nit-picky details, and every single one of them has "none of the above" as an option). Overall, the class was alright, it was just a lot of work. Attendance isn't required, but it you want to pass, you better come to class and read the chapters from the textbook. Good luck!!
