You have to take this class. There are no tests, but projects over a state and country of your choosing. They occur every 3 weeks and Dr. Wozniak gave us all the website and tables as to where to find the information. I, personally am not very good at tests so this course worked on my strengths. It is also very interesting to learn about the United States and different countries. You have to go to class on your specified days to present and you don't get another chance to present another day if you are not there. The projects are oral via powerpoint and a written paper that basically just documents your powerpoint presentation. Dr. Wozniak is really fun.

This class is probably one of the least favorites of classes available in Sociology. Demography is kind of boring, but its a worthwhile class to take. There are four written reports on a country and state, which requires a bit of data mining, but not much as it is all but printed out for you and there is a little bit of a write up. Also there is a presentation over one of your reports, which is easy enough. The two exams in the class are the midterm and final for which you are allowed a "student success sheet" (cheat sheat) which should ensure a passing grade. Attendance is part of the grade so show up.

Dr. Wozniak is a good guy, but he's not the best teacher ever. He uses a lot of statistics when he teaches and it can be difficult to know what all you need to write down and remember. He does like to goof off a lot, which makes the class a lot more interesting. But it is difficult to understand the class a lot of the time.

There were a lot of notes that we took, but I loved the class. He made the material very intersting to learn. I found that i retained a lot what was covered in the class. I was sad to hear he won't be teaching Intro to Sociology, but if you need to take Population and Society, I recommend him!

This is a great writing component to take. There are only 2 test, a midterm and a final, one oral presentation, and 5 papers over a county of your choice. The tests are open note but they are still not easy. This is an interesting course and I found it to be fairly easy.
