I loved this class. Maestre is amazing! He is from Columbia, he has an accent, but it is pretty easy to understand him. The book is necessary, and you have to register on the quia.com website, which is a big quiz website. It is difficult at first, the website is completely in spanish, and you are allowed to retake the test if needed (he only takes the highest score). Mid way in the class you start watching Sol y Viento, which coincides with the book. Sol y Viento is a spanish soap opera, he makes you watch it, then sometimes he hands you a worksheet about the episode you watched. Sol y Viento is boring at first, but it gets interesting. There are only 2 tests (mid-term and final), and in between you take quizzes. At the end of the semester he assigns you a project you must do with a partner. It is worth 40% of your grade. He gives you a spanish speaking country, and you and your parttner make a powerpoint presentation about the country. You have to speak in spanish, but you can have your information on the powerpoint ( you can just read it off of it). He grades pretty easy on it. Over all, his class was awesome! I was told to take his for spanish, and I'm glad I did!
