Additional Comments |
There is a massive overkill of reading assignments. You would think by the amount of reading and writing you were doing for this course, you'd think it was a capstone course or something. Some of the material is interesting, but mostly it is just history and the idea of "contemporary" is the study of what made religion today contemporary. It is practically a religious history class rather than a study of the contemporary religion. She gives a bunch of quizzes over the reading that can be difficult, but she, in my experience grades easy on them. The essays we have to write are lengthy, and I find myself writing to just make the required word count (yes, she does it by word count and makes us write the words at the end of the paper). The tests are just essay questions.
She's okay, but you must have the time to dedicate to reading and writing for this class.
