He is a good teacher. He is young, and understands his students more than most professors. He does have high expectations for his students for a 100 level course, but overall he was good.

great class - his tests were easy - four pop quizzes which were also way easy - only ONE essay, which you have from day one until april to write - hes adorable :)

Mr. Phillips is a great professor who will work with students to ensure they understand the class. Isn't overbearing on homework, tests, etc. If you do what he asks, you will should get an A. Read the texts!

This class was a cake walk like none other. He anounced after our first test that the rest of them would be take-home. Then he let us know that our final would be to write three one-page essays on any topic we had discussed. It was so easy. Plus, he's a very handsome guy with a great and interesting personality. If you need this class for your major, I might take it with someone else, just because you'll learn more, but if you just need to take this for gen. ed. definitely take Phillips.

This is a great class to take if you already know a little bit about American Politics. I did not unfortunately, but still made it through. There is a lot of debate and discussion in the class and participation is usually only the people who know what they are talking about. Also, Phillips isnt going to really teach you these things. He will talk about what is in the book by just reading the book in front of the class. IT was a class I looked forward to though because through the class debates I learned ALOT. Really study for his tests, although they are only multiple choice he makes them tricky with some of his answers being similar. Fun class, take it with him.
