When i first signed up for this class, i had no clue what i was getting myself into. I didn't think that we would talk about sex so much. Yes, sex. There are quite a few notes, but they are on blackboard, and all you have to do is print them out. I would advise you to take notes in class also. For me, this class got a little confusing with so much information, but it was a very interactive class and fun. R. Neal is a pretty good teacher, but she can grade hard. She is funny to be around. The exam consists of multiple choice answers. You will need scantrons. We only had 3 tests, including the final during the semester. There are 10 internet assignments, and one is due every week. They must be typed, or else she takes off points. Overall, this class isn't bad, you've just got to study alot if you have trouble remembering things.

OOPS - I originally posted this under CFS 198, but the course was actually CFS 180. Sorry! Rachel Neal is my absolute favorite professor. You can tell that she genuinely cares for her students and she loves her job. I have taken a few classes with her already, and I plan on taking as many with her as I can. She is always there to help if you have any questions/concerns, and she makes all her classes very interesting and fun. Never a boring moment!

Rachel is a great teacher! Her class is not difficult at all. Your grade consists of 10 internet assignments, which she posts on blackboard at the beginning of the semester, and 3 tests. The tests are multiple choice. She does give extra credit oppotunities which are worth 10 points. Attendance is not mandatory, but she gives random in-class writing assignments which cannot be made up if missed. This class is mostly discussion, but it's interesting.

Rachel is a great person to take for this class. On the first day you will be overloaded it seems, but it is not bad at all. The entire class is a group project from beginning to end. All you do the entire semester is develop an education program of your choice. The class is very fun and you learn alot as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great, Fun and Intersting but young teacher! She gives you notes to print off at the beginning of the semester so there is no need for a book. Tests are simple and the discussions relate to each individual, lots of fun discussion and things I never would know or think about. I give Rachel two thumbs up, shes awesome, so take her!

Rachel is an great teacher. She is fun, hip, and serious. You need to show up for class and pay attention to what is covered. It is not a gimmie class where you don't have to do anything and recieve an A. You actually learn things and it's fun! If you take any CFS classes I recommend grabbing her. I've already taken her twice, with no regrets.

it is a difficult course, but you have to work your ass off for the grade, it not going to be easy. rach is a really great teacher and a friend if you just ASK then she will help, i had her for other classes and they work out great. if you down one or two points then she will help you, but you have to do the work.i don't feel that the class was a waste of time good luck and work hard. it all about office hours

If your going to take Family Relations Rachel is the only professor to take! She just has you print the notes off blackboard so you never have to take any. If you study the studyguides she give the tests are super easy. Shes only 30 so shes cool with all the topics you talk about in the class

I took this course on-line. It was wonderful. She is very helpful with any questions that students may have. She is very in touch with the students. She provided notes on-line in addition to our text book. There are various assignments throughout the semester. These assignments are easy and important for the students to complete. I love Dr. Neal.

This class was taken on the internet and was super easy. I received a B in the class only because I was lazy. I probably spent 30 minutes to 1 hour per week on this class tops. And the tests are all multiple choice and come straight from the notes with a few thrown in from the book. The only problem I had was Dr. Neal does not give reminders about assignments. She gives a schedule at the beginning of the semester, and that is it. But, she didnt mind if you did all of the assignments the first week of class. If you aren't a do-it-yourself kind of person, this class isnt for you.

Rachel's class was one of the best I have ever taken. She is very laid back and encourages open discussion over the material. All of the notes for her class are posted on blackboard for you to print off. All of her tests are multiple choice, and she provides you with a study guide before each exam. The final is NOT cumulative. Attendance is not really mandatory. She doesn't call roll or anything like that but instead she has in-class activities that she uses to take attendance. The only thing about the in-class activities is she doesn't give them every day. I would recommend this class to anyone because she is a fun teacher who makes the class exciting.

I had this class as a web class and I found Dr Neal to be extremely helpful and friendly. She doesnt put up with any crap or sorry excuses but she expects her students to be the adults they are supposed to be. She always had the grades back on the assignments in a reasonable time and she sent me an email after every assignment she graded to give me feedback and what I made. This was especially nice since we did not meet in class. Her test werent bad and she gave us a study guide within a reasonable time frame to help us study. I would recommend Dr Neal to anyone! Im taking her agian this semester for CFS 493 in class!!

I really don't think this teacher knows what she is talking about when it comes to teaching. Yes the course is easy, but it is FULL of busy work - which is not needed when some students have a really hard course load. Not to mention, I took this course on the internet and she had us doing group work. It was nearly impossible and really difficult to do when you don't know the other students and some of them don't do the work (and your grade gets penalized b/c of it)! It's an absolute waste of time to take Rachel Neal for ANYTHING.

If you want your grades back within a decent time frame don't take her. In the beginning she got them back within a week, but as the class progressed the papers stopped coming back. I also took this as an internet course. It was somewhat easy, however you have to go somewhere and take the test, you can't take them at home.

You can print notes online, so even though she says the text is required I never used it, or bought it. THe notes are enough. But she is sooooooo much fun and funny. She is really cool and if you study the tests are easy. TAKE HER!!
