I really didn't get anything out of this course. She's more worried about whether or not she's color coordinated with the power point more than teaching us anything. She drones on and on about subjects not related to PR and gets mad if you leave when class is scheduled to be over even if all she's doing is looking at jeans on levis.com. If there's another professor available, take them! And don't bother buying the book, you won't use it.

Some of the questions listed above are hard to answer since Dr. King changes her mind so much!!! You never really know what she wants from you as a student, and when you think you have figured it out she changes it. I had her for a night class in Spring 2005 and it was horrible. It was the longest 3 hours of my life, with out a break. I am not really sure who these summer people had as a teacher but this is not the same woman I had. Now I will agree with the summer post that she is nice and is willing to help but as far as the class it self goes I didn't learn anything. I hope for future Journalism students that a new teacher is appointed or she gets it together! P.S. those "great" power points check the books website that is where they came from! I want to ad that Dr, King is a nice lady who means well but just doesn't have it all together.

Wilma is a great professor. She made going to class everyday fun and exciting. We got to submit our own test questions in essay form and we chose any 4 we wanted to do from a list of 10 or more. Our final project was a group project that consisted of working with a non-profit organization. The class is definitely interesting and not at all difficult. I'd reccommend it to anyone.

I had this course for the summer session. There was only 7 of us in the class. Our class became like a family. We spent the first 30 mins of class most days sharing what we did the night before. We covered power point presentations the first 3 weeks of class that she sent to us by email. For our tests (which she hates having to do) we each got to make up 4 test questions. She would email us the test on Wednesday afternoons and we got to pick 4 test questions out of the 20+ provided to us. The test was not due until Friday. Every J355 class has to do a mandatory PR project. Ours wasn't too horrible. Yes it does require you to work outside of class and show her that you are working on the project, but she tells you what needs to be done. Mrs. King is a very nice lady. She was excited about going to Italy a few days after our class was over so she always told us what was going on with that. She really cares about her students and what is going on in their lifes.

Wilma King is easily the worst teacher I have ever had. I may not have picked PR if I knew I had to deal with her all of the time. She is a very nice lady most of the time, but her mood swings are horrible. She does not teach you anything, you must teach yourself. In the classes I have had with her, she just gives you one big semester project (that is very confusing) and you work on it throughout the semester. She will randomly want to collect something from you so just pretend to be making progress. The best way to make a good grade is to suck up because she picks favorites from the get-go and if you are PR you are going to have her for a lot of classes.

This is quite possibly the worst class to take in the entire department, especially with King-Jones as a teacher. We had one project that was due at the end of the semester, and most of our class time was spent checking my email while she walked around socializing with classmates. She is a VERY nice woman, but she sucks as a teacher. Period.

Horrible -- worst teacher in Journalism Dept. Totally picks her pets -- suck up and you'll be fine. Talks about other professors and students. Didn't learn a single thing from her -- everything was self-taught.

This class - and Wilma King - are a complete waste of time. Maddeningly, they're required for journalism majors at Western. But she teaches nothing. Nothing. Her assignments and requirements, always vague, change from day to day until she finally
